Power Fundamentals Analyst

Join our Power Trading team in Brazil as a Power Fundamentals Analyst, working closely with traders to support day-to-day commercial decision-making. Based on the trading desk, you will collaborate directly with traders and analysts to turn complex market data into clear, actionable insights in a fast-paced environment.

As part of a small, highly collaborative team, you will help support power trading strategies through data-driven analysis of the Brazilian market. Your work will focus on core fundamentals such as generation, load, hydrology, and price formation, helping the desk build a clear, real-time view of market conditions. Success in this role requires strong curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn quickly while developing and communicating a clear market perspective.

In this role, you will assist in building and maintaining Brazil-focused datasets, dashboards, and analytical tools that are directly used by traders. You will contribute to fundamental analysis, including supply and demand balances, hydro reservoir levels, and key price drivers such as PLD. Working closely with traders, you will help translate data and analysis into clear, practical insights, while continuously refining your understanding of how fundamentals drive commercial outcomes. You will also support the team in organizing and structuring large datasets into usable views that inform daily trading decisions.

What you offer

• 5 years of experience in power markets, commodity markets, or a related analytical role
• Basic understanding of power market fundamentals (experience in Brazil or Latin America is a plus)
• Interest in commercial trading and how market fundamentals translate into pricing and opportunities
• Working knowledge of Python, SQL, powerBI or tablet, CEPEL models used for price formation in Brazil, as well as satellite models, with a willingness to further develop technical skills
• Ability to work with large datasets and support end-to-end analysis (data gathering, basic modeling, and visualization)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain findings clearly and concisely
• Collaborative mindset, with a proactive and team-oriented approach
• Curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced trading environment
