Job Scope
Why does the role exist? High level purpose of function.
The Manufacturing technician is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient production and maintenance operations. This position covers a broad technical scope, including production support, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, and continuous improvements in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems. Technicians act as first-line responders to equipment and process issues, ensuring minimum downtime and maximum output and high quality.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
Assure safe conditions through defined procedures (including Lock out tag out – LOTO) during equipment repairs, cleaning, or inspections.
Perform risk analysis and participate in risk assessments according to established routines.
Work under the defined shift model to ensure customer demand is met in the assigned production time.
Troubleshoot and resolve production line issues (mechanical, electrical, automation, process) and completing validation runs of production to confirm the effectiveness of work.
Support production teams with first-line problem solving and escalate unsolved issues.
Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on production equipment (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic).
Install, maintain, and repair equipment, wiring, and systems (mechanical assemblies, electrical systems).
Inspect equipment for wear, vibrations, lubrication, or electrical faults and escalate to one level above the need for repair if necessary.
Define and manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability.
Read and update technical documentation including (but not limited to): diagrams, blueprints, troubleshooting guidelines, checklists and work instructions.
Train newly onboarded team members and colleagues in technical and safety procedures.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintenance program optimization.
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Follow all currently implemented work instructions and standard operating procedures for repairs, troubleshooting and escalation.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the machine, product, and process.
Complete supplementary tasks as seen fit by management to effectively utilize time and resource for the benefit of the business, including but not limited to running the line, completing 5S, cleaning activities & quality sampling.
Requirements
Educational background and previous experience required for the role
Qualifications and Experience
Technical/industrial background (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or related).
3+ years previous experience from the manufacturing or processing industry (e.g., battery, pulp and paper, food, chemicals, microelectronics, oil & gas, pharmaceutical processing)
Vocational education within Industrial/Electrical Gymnasium or equivalent.
Six Sigma White or Yellow Belt certification is a plus.
Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
Basic IT literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Understanding how to utilize equipment to run efficient manufacturing with energy and costing optimization.
Experience in troubleshooting with specialized diagnostic equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc).
Experience with equipment, piping, pumps, valves, control tools, chemicals, and electronics.
Administrative competence, including experience with ERP systems, work orders, email, and incident reporting.
Specific skills & Knowledge
Excellent English skills, both written and oral, are essential. Basic Swedish and other language skills are a plus. You should have good communication skills and be able to work in close collaboration with colleagues from many different teams.
High work ethic, critical thinking, and strong problem-solving skills are a must.
This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual labor in physically demanding environments. This can include 100% working hours allocation into clean-rooms and dry-rooms, while wearing appropriate PPE. The role also requires working shifts and working in multiple process areas, according to business needs. This role requires working full-time on the shop floor, supporting operation.
A genuine technical interest and curiosity about working within production is highly valued. A good understanding of machines and equipment such as pipes, pumps, and valves is a plus.
