Healthcare operations have always depended on people to bridge the gaps that technology couldn't. It relies on complex manual work to carry out critical internal processes, yet most health systems don’t have enough resources to properly automate these tasks, leaving them stuck in outdated, labor-intensive SOPs.
Luminai structures the chaos, automates the manual handoffs, and deploys end-to-end workflows across every system, providing the integrated intelligence layer to improve processes over time. By delegating to autonomous AI systems those mission-critical workflows that previously expended valuable human time, Luminai allows doctors and administrators to do what they do best: Focus on Patients.
We've raised $60M in funding, including our recent Series B led by Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia India), with participation from healthcare-focused Define Ventures and continued support from General Catalyst and Y Combinator. We're backed by some of the best investors in Silicon Valley, including Kevin Weil (Chief Product Officer at OpenAI), Arash Ferdowsi (co-founder of Dropbox), Katie Stanton (former VP Global Media, Twitter), and CEOs of companies such as Flexport, Notion, Front, Ramp, and Twitch.
Our team is in-office 4 days a week (Monday - Friday, Wednesday optional WFH) in either San Fransisco, California or New York, New York.
We’re looking for a Strategy Lead to help Luminai decide where to focus and how to win as we expand our footprint across healthcare operations. You’ll work closely with company leadership and Product, Engineering, Deployment, & Commercial teams to identify promising domains, shape high-value use cases, and turn market insight into clear strategic direction.
This is a high-ownership role at the intersection of strategy, product development, and execution. You’ll help define the orchestration layer healthcare should have had all along, turning raw model capability into institutional change at the messy, high-stakes edge where AI has to be reliable, governed, and genuinely useful. Your work will directly influence what we build, how we position it, and where we focus.
Research promising domains and workflow areas for Luminai, and assess their attractiveness based on customer needs, market opportunity, competitive dynamics, and fit with Luminai’s capabilities
Develop clear points of view on how Luminai should proceed within a domain, including which use cases to prioritize, where we have the strongest wedge, and what will need to be true to win
Build a practical understanding of the competitive landscape, articulate where Luminai is - and needs to be - differentiated, and help ensure our roadmap reinforces that distinctive platform vision.
Help shape how offerings should be packaged, positioned, and taken to market across different buyers and stakeholders
Partner closely with Product and Engineering to inform roadmap direction, serving as a strong voice of the customer grounded in a deep understanding of real workflows, constraints, and operating environments.
Build relationships with domain experts and external operators who can sharpen our thinking and help us learn faster
Support early product-side work with the commercial team, including customer conversations, opportunity shaping, and strategic deal support
Identify and evaluate promising partnership opportunities, assess which are strategically worth pursuing, and selectively help forge relationships that accelerate our product, go-to-market, or market position
Take ownership of ambiguous, high-priority problems from open question to clear recommendation, bringing structure and strong judgment with minimal need for direction
8+ years of relevant experience across strategy consulting, product, healthcare operations, business development, company-building, or related leadership roles
Significant healthcare experience is a must, ideally with exposure to health systems and how they buy and operate
Strong product instincts, with experience helping shape real products, solutions, or workflow-based offerings, and connecting market opportunity to practical execution
Demonstrated track record of strong performance in demanding environments; no single background is required, but evidence of excellence is
Ability to independently drive complex, cross-functional work from problem definition through recommendation and execution, owning ambiguous problems end-to-end rather than operating in a narrow lane
Evidence of independent business development judgment, including spotting promising opportunities, shaping them thoughtfully, and turning them into real customer or partner momentum
Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
Bonus: Experience in AI, workflow automation, enterprise software, or adjacent healthcare technology categories
Bonus: Experience working closely with forward-deployed teams and health system operators to connect strategy with how work actually runs in production
SF Bay Area or New York City strongly preferred; relocation support available for the right candidate.
