Description:The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing, executing and continuously improving Lockheed Martin's enterprise social media strategy in support of the company's business priorities, brand and reputation. The position serves as the enterprise lead for Lockheed Martin's social media strategy, ensuring every channel advances the company's strategic narrative while delivering measurable business impact through integrated campaigns, audience insights and continuous optimization.
As a key member of the Integrated Campaign Team (ICT), this position collaborates across Corporate Communications, Business Area communications teams, Executive Communications, Government Affairs, Marketing and Visual Communications to develop integrated communications strategies that align paid, earned, shared and owned media. The Social Media Manager ensures enterprise social content is audience-focused, data-driven and aligned with the company's strategic priorities while maintaining high standards for editorial quality, governance and brand consistency.
This role combines strategic planning, content development, analytics, social listening and channel optimization to strengthen Lockheed Martin's digital presence, expand audience engagement and continuously improve communications performance. The successful candidate will foster a culture of creativity, experimentation and continuous learning by evaluating emerging platforms, technologies and content formats to enhance communications effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute the enterprise social media strategy in alignment with Lockheed Martin's business priorities, communications objectives and Integrated Campaign Team (ICT) initiatives.
• Partner with Corporate Communications and Business Area communicators to translate enterprise campaigns into platform-specific social media strategies and content plans.
• Collaborate across Executive Communications, Media Relations, Government Affairs, Marketing, Visual Communications and Digital Communications to deliver integrated communications campaigns.
• Lead editorial planning and contribute to an enterprise social media content calendar that supports business priorities, campaigns and real-time communications opportunities.
• Write, edit and publish compelling content optimized for each social platform while maintaining a consistent brand voice and messaging framework.
• Monitor social conversations, audience behavior, competitor activity and industry trends to identify engagement opportunities and emerging issues.
• Analyze channel performance and campaign metrics to develop actionable recommendations that improve audience engagement and business outcomes.
• Ensure quality control across enterprise social media channels, maintaining editorial excellence, accessibility standards, brand consistency and publishing governance.
• Partner with Business Area social media teams to establish best practices, promote enterprise alignment and share insights across the organization.
• Champion innovation by testing new content formats, emerging social platforms, AI-enabled capabilities and evolving digital storytelling techniques.
• Develop reports and dashboards that communicate social media performance, audience insights and strategic recommendations to communications leadership.
• Support enterprise communications during major announcements and crisis communications activities, as needed.
Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience developing and executing social media strategies for a large, complex organization.
• Demonstrated experience managing enterprise social media platforms and publishing tools.
• Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using analytics and reporting tools to measure performance and optimize communications strategies.
• Experience collaborating across multiple organizations and stakeholders to execute integrated communications initiatives.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Desired Skills:• Experience supporting executive social media programs.
• Knowledge of integrated communications planning across paid, earned, shared and owned media.

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $103,700 - $179,860. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
