Lazard Private Capital Advisory (“PCA”) is a global business with offices in the US, Europe and Asia. The team has over 50 professionals in two core markets: primary private fund raising and secondary advisory. PCA clients include private equity, real estate, debt and infrastructure investment managers. The group is a recognised leader in these markets and they cover over 1,200 institutional investors globally who pursue investment opportunities within these alternative investment asset classes.
Analysts can expect to be exposed to a mix of advisory / investment banking activity (origination, due diligence, strategic and financial advice, execution, etc.) as well as capital markets functions (sales, distribution, etc.).
The Private Capital Advisory Group is seeking to recruit an Analyst to join the team based in Singapore. The Analyst will play an important role as a Transaction Management team member alongside senior bankers supporting deal management activities for Asia-based clients. Analysts are involved in all activities of the group, usually for multiple clients simultaneously, each of which likely at a different phase of the transaction. The position will be based in Singapore and may require periodic travel.
Notably, Lazard’s Analysts in the Private Fund Advisory Group generally have extensive contact with senior individuals at Lazard’s clients, both in the preparation of marketing materials and during the marketing of the fund. As such, prospective candidates will demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal skills and judgement.
We’ll trust you to:
• Prepare presentation materials and pitches for prospective clients;
• Meet prospective clients with senior bankers and analyse financial and qualitative information in order to assist in the group’s due diligence investigations prior to signing-up a new mandate;
• Assist in the positioning of the client’s investment strategy and the preparation of marketing materials, including private placement memoranda, investor presentations and due diligence materials;
• Design and co-ordinate capital raising/secondary transaction activities and international road shows;
• Communicate regularly with Lazard’s institutional investor coverage professionals;
• Assist in preparing responses to investor due diligence requests; and
• Maintain a database of investor commentary, feedback and interest in ongoing transactions.
You’ll need to have:
• Academic excellence - minimum 2.1 university degree classification (or equivalent);
• Minimum 6 – 12 months of relevant work experience (Private Equity, Investment Banking, Consulting or similar);
• Excellent interpersonal, communications and relationship-building skills with colleagues and clients at all levels;
• Strong written communication skills, excellent attention to detail and high standards of accuracy;
• Ability to work well in a team;
• Good analytical skills;
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel & Word; and
• Must maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
