The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Group/Division
SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD®), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. SPTS operates across 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, and offers comprehensive service and spare parts support through a worldwide network of service centers and qualified local agents.
Key Tasks
- To provide install support to customers encompassing system commissioning, system upgrade and preventative maintenance support.
- To generate a close working relationship with the customers in the region to enable the company to sell its product portfolio.
- Provision of feedback, in the approved format, enabling the pro-active identification of product and business process improvements.
- Timely completion of all field visits reports (expenses, field returns etc).
- Provide remote install and technical support to customers.
- Such other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time.
- Travel requirements: This role is ideal for a candidate based in Bavaria/Regensburg with ability to frequently travel during the week within this wider region. Occasional travels to Switzerland, Germany and Central Europe might occur as well.
Minimum Qualifications
- University degree in electrotechnical engineering, mechatronics or related technical field.
- Relevant experience within the semiconductor field or other capital equipment arena, combined with a technical customer facing role.
- Advantage would be an experience with electronic semiconductor capital equipment and/or installation expertise.
- Experience of combining electrical/ mechanical/control system as used in a mechatronic environment.
- Knowledge of 3 phase voltage, PLC and operating systems.
- Fault finding to chassis level would be a distinct advantage.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and German is needed.
- Excellent communication and customer interfacing skills.
- Flexibility to travel regionally even internationally to support the customer.
- Ability to work alone or unsupervised for extended period, often in challenging situations.
- Systematic and logical approach to problem solving.
- Good organizational skills.
