Kimley-Horn's Seattle, Washington (WA) office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join their Aviation team! We are looking for a civil engineer who is ready to tackle challenging projects at airports located throughout the PNW and the United States. We plan, design, and support construction activities at both Commercial Service and General Aviation Airports, including SEA, PDX, GEG, BFI, PAE, and RNT in the PNW. Our projects include Runways, Taxiways, Aprons, Terminal Facilities, Parking Facilities, stormwater, utilities, and many other civil improvements to keep our aviation system moving. We have a number of exciting projects ongoing, including planning and preliminary engineering services for a tunnel connection between several concourses at an international airport. The project may also include APM tunnel services, utility relocations, heavy civil design, complex phasing, and planning for construction. Prior aviation experience is preferred but not required. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
- Prepare high quality sets of design plans, along with checking the work of others
- Prepare analysis, reports, and letters in support of airport planning, design, and construction
- Other responsibilities will include managing project tasks, project design and permitting, construction coordination, and coordinating work with other team members
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects
- Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules
- This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of engineers and designers on a variety of projects
- You will work closely and collaboratively with other industry leading professionals, various jurisdictions, and contractors
Qualifications
- 3+ years of civil engineering design experience, including grading, pavement design, utilities, storm drainage, and construction phasing/MOT are preferred
- Strong desire and passion to be engaged with clients, solving project problems, and working with the team to deliver
- Strong AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation experience
- Ability to work in a team, both collaborating with and mentoring junior staff
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Aviation design experience
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 18 months)
Salary Range:
- $90,000 - $140,000
- Eligible for performance based bonuses
