KBR Abu Dhabi is currently looking to fill a position of Lead Procurement – Engineer for an Offshore – Water Injection Project to be based in UAE ( Abu Dhabi) as soon as the administrative processes are completed, will then relocate to Spain Office and then return to Abu Dhabi .
Job Purpose
The Lead Procurement Engineer is responsible for managing and executing procurement activities for a major Offshore Water Injection Project, ensuring timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and services in compliance with project specifications, budget, schedule, and company procurement procedures. The role leads supplier engagement, commercial evaluations, contract negotiations, and coordination with engineering, construction, logistics, and project management teams.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Management
- Lead procurement activities for major equipment packages and bulk materials related to offshore water injection facilities.
- Prepare and implement project procurement plans, sourcing strategies, and purchasing schedules.
- Ensure procurement activities align with project milestones and delivery requirements.
- Monitor procurement progress and provide regular status reports to project management.
Tendering & Supplier Management
- Prepare RFQs, ITBs, commercial bid evaluations, and recommendation reports.
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines to develop technical bid packages.
- Conduct supplier prequalification, market assessments, and vendor performance evaluations.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, delivery schedules, warranties, and payment conditions.
Contract & Commercial Administration
- Review and negotiate procurement contracts and purchase orders.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the procurement cycle.
- Manage variation orders, claims, and contractual correspondences.
- Ensure compliance with project, client, and corporate procurement policies.
Expediting & Logistics Coordination
- Monitor supplier manufacturing progress and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with expediting, inspection, and logistics teams to ensure on-time delivery.
- Resolve procurement bottlenecks and supplier performance issues.
- Support customs clearance and transportation planning for critical project materials.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Interface with project management, engineering, QA/QC, construction, and vendors.
- Participate in project review meetings and procurement progress reviews.
- Support client audits and procurement reporting requirements.
- Lead procurement team members and provide mentorship where required.

- Chemical Injection Packages

- Piping, Valves, and Fittings (PVF)

- Instrumentation & Control Systems
- Subsea and Offshore Equipment Packages
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Industrial, or related discipline).
- Professional procurement certifications (CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent) are advantageous.
Experience
- 15-18+ years of procurement experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, or Offshore projects.
- Minimum 5 years in a Lead Procurement Engineer or Procurement Lead role.
- Proven experience delivering procurement packages for offshore upstream facilities, water injection projects, platforms, FPSOs, or subsea developments.
- Strong knowledge of international procurement practices and contract management.
