Job Summary:
As a Fund Accountant within the JP Morgan Fund Accounting Team, you will take ownership of the day-to-day production, validation, and delivery of financial statements and NAV calculations for a diverse portfolio of funds. You will work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure accuracy and compliance, while continuously improving operational processes. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop deep fund accounting expertise and contribute to a high-performing team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate accounting and securities records for assigned funds, adhering to prescribed controls (e.g., position reconciliation, asset pricing, security trading, income & expense processing).
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounting or securities transactions that breach validation tolerances.
- Ensure timely NAV production, accounting validation, and escalate issues promptly to management.
- Prepare files in accordance with internal control checklists and maintain thorough documentation, especially for unusual items.
- Reconcile capital flows and third-party/internal forward foreign exchange contracts to portfolios.
- Utilize WINS-INVEST ONE, GTI, and Titan systems to research and resolve portfolio issues.
- Analyze fund performance to verify valuation accuracy.
- Assist with ad hoc inquiries from internal and external clients, emphasizing inter-department communication.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of investment instruments, markets, and pricing methodologies, including infrastructure and non-listed securities.
- Gain understanding of client structures, portfolio types, deliverables, and specific requirements.
- Document procedures, identify control improvements, and provide training to new hires.
