Morgan's franchise across the continent.
Job Summary
The Payment Sales Executive Director will co-own senior relationships with J.P. Morgan's largest and most strategic Corporate Sector clients across Sub-Saharan Africa. The role is responsible for originating and closing complex, multi-product treasury and payments opportunities, coordinating coverage across client headquarters and global operations, and leading internal teams from solution design through implementation and ongoing relationship management.
The opportunity extends beyond client coverage and revenue generation. The successful candidate will play a meaningful role in shaping regional strategy, identifying emerging market opportunities, and helping define how J.P. Morgan continues to expand its Corporate Payments franchise across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Success requires navigating complex organizations, influencing senior stakeholders, mobilizing global resources, and converting client needs into measurable revenue growth, strategic partnerships, and enduring relationship value.
What Success Looks Like (12-18 Months)
Multi-year account plans are in place and actively governed for priority clients, with clear evidence of pipeline conversion, revenue growth, and relationship expansion.
Delivered referenceable client solutions that modernise treasury operations and demonstrate measurable improvements in efficiency, control, or working capital.
Deepened J.P. Morgan's relationships with priority African corporates by expanding senior access, broadening product adoption, and strengthening coordination across client headquarters and global operations.
Improved control discipline, client satisfaction, and delivery consistency through timely issue resolution and effective coordination across internal teams.
Recognised internally and externally as a trusted advisor to Africa's leading corporates, driving measurable client outcomes while strengthening J.P. Morgan's position as a leading payments partner across the region.
Job Responsibilities
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within transaction banking, treasury services, or payments gained at a leading bank, financial institution, or fintech, with exposure to complex regional or cross-border mandates.
Experience covering some of Africa's largest corporates and multinationals, with a track record of solving complex treasury challenges across Sub-Saharan Africa and globally.
Familiarity with ERP/TMS integrations, APIs, ISO 20022 migrations, and payment modernisation programmes.
Exposure to FX integration with payments, liquidity risk management, and enterprise-grade fraud controls.
Ability to operate across diverse regulatory environments across Sub-Saharan Africa.
