This role is responsible for the physical and logistical management of non-conforming materials within the QUAX space. The position supports Engineering and Manufacturing by executing material dispositions and ensuring accurate tracking, handling, and movement of parts across various workflows (supplier return/rework, failure analysis, manufacturing support, return to stock, etc). This is a hands-on, on-site role that requires strong attention to detail, organization, and a quality-focused mindset to ensure materials are handled correctly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day incoming and outgoing non-conforming material inventory within the QUAX area Physically receive, sort, store, and stage materials including power, mechanical, thermal, and OEM cable components Partner with engineering to execute disposition actions, including: Return to supplier (RTS) Rework processing Routing to development or manufacturing for failure analysis (FA) Returning approved materials back to stock or production Ensure accurate system transactions and traceability in SAP, MFS, or similar systems (identify, log, and flag parts appropriately) Maintain clear organization of material locations and status across the QUAX space Support audits by ensuring materials are properly labeled, tracked, and compliant with quality processes Identify and escalate any discrepancies, delays, or process gaps once all possibilities have been exhausted Coordinate with cross-functional teams (quality, manufacturing, engineering) to ensure smooth material flow Follow all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and moving materials (with proper training and safety support such as lift-assist tools and team lifts) Strong attention to detail and process discipline Good organizational skills to manage inventory and material flow Ability to navigate systems (SAP, MFS, or similar) to track and document parts accurately Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing daily priorities Comfortable working hands-on, on-site in a shop floor / lab environment Quality-oriented mindset with understanding of traceability and compliance requirements OR strong willingness to learn Reliable and consistent work ethic Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to identify improvement opportunities Prior experience in quality, manufacturing, or supply chain/logistics Familiarity with non-conforming material processes or disposition workflows Experience supporting or working with Procurement Quality Engineers (PQEs) Knowledge of failure analysis processes Experience using SAP, MFS, or inventory/material tracking systems Demonstrated project coordination or task management skills Background working with electrical/mechanical components or similar hardware United States Enterprise Operations Professional POUGHKEEPSIE, US
