We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join HSBC as a Global Banking – Graduate Trainee.
This programme provides students and fresh graduates with hands-on exposure to real business activities while supporting practical training requirements for Degrees/Diplomas (where applicable). At HSBC, we also see this as an opportunity to develop early career talent for future roles.
Key Responsibilities
- During the programme, trainees will be assigned specific projects across relevant teams within Global Banking, supported by appropriate supervision. Project assignments may span up to 12 months for fresh graduates (subject to programme design and business needs).
- Provide day-to-day support to the team, working with colleagues to define, manage and help deliver business priorities and targets.
- Support Global Banking in progressing strategic priorities, including preparing materials and reports for business reviews and senior management discussions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Coverage, Product, Risk, Operations and other functions aligned to the business.
- Collect, review, analyse and present information (data, trends and commentary) to support decision-making.
- Communicate clearly and professionally (written and verbal), including effective collaboration across teams and, where appropriate, interaction with senior stakeholders.
- Deliver high-quality outputs with minimal guidance, demonstrating strong ownership and attention to detail.
- Understand dynamic situations quickly and apply structured thinking to address evolving needs.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with CGPA 3.0 and above or at least Second Class Upper (or equivalent).
- Strong written and spoken English; good interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyse information, identify key insights and translate them into business-relevant outputs.
- Resourceful, well-organised, and able to manage multiple tasks with good judgement.
- Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on outcomes and client-driven priorities.
- Energetic, adaptable and keen to learn.
- Strong team player with emerging leadership potential.
- Confident with standard productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations) and able to work independently when required.
