Sanctions Analyst

Apply Fulfilling required Regional level Sanctions subject matter expertise and assessment. Support and act as an SME for the implementation of globally led Sanctions change initiatives within the Region and more specifically within the CoE. Maintain QA procedures and guidance so they remain up to date and accurate. Ensure all investigations are compliant with HSBC records retention policy. Ensure that all work is completed within agreed SLAs, with appropriate escalation and mitigating actions for items not meeting SLAs. Support the Regional QA Manager in liaising with internal audit and legal teams to identify themes and trends. Where required support in-country QA colleagues whose alerts have not migrated to the CoE. Ensure that agreed levels of all alert types are subject to QA analysis and that any issues are escalated to alert adjudication team leaders and the Regional QA Manager. Through QA analysis help the CoE adhere to Global Sanctions standards. Support the development of Sanctions guidance and procedures for the CoE and Region. Act as a point of contact within Region for internal stakeholders for all matters relating to QA, providing specific subject matter expertise. Support the implementation of globally led Sanctions change initiatives within Region in relation to QA. Work collegiately with Internal Audit to ensure effective deployment of agreed regional audit strategies, providing support to all Regional Alert Adjudication team actions. Provide support and oversight on the remediation of all Regional QA related Audit findings relating to Region. Take personal responsibility for training, performance management, career management and succession planning thorough 1:1 sessions with line manager. Ensure development activities are a core priority and ensure reasonable time is taken for learning and developmental activities. Foster positive and professional working relationships within Sanctions Teams at a Country and Regional level. Ensure availability and retention of accurate and comprehensive QA analysis for all cases that have been assessed. Support Regional QA Manager in the production of related MI and the submission through to the Regional Sanctions team and Country Sanctions Officers. Risk professional with experience in one or more risk compliance roles, to include Sanctions experience. Experience of conducting QA activities in a financial services or risk environment. Knowledge of Sanctions regulations and how they apply to Sanctions screening and adjudication Knowledge of the HSBC Group structure, its business and personnel, and an understanding of HSBC's corporate culture. Lateral thinker with an ability to identify root cause and develop practical, efficient, cost effective solutions to solve complex issues. Ability to adapt to change and provide input where necessary. Excellent communicator with strong inter-personal and influencing skills.
