Sanctions Screening Analyst

Apply Responsible for completing sanctions investigation activities within the Regional Sanctions Alert Adjudications team, investigating Level 3 sanctions alerts for transaction activity to determine whether an alert is a True Match or a False Positive, in line with the Global Standards for L3 Sanctions Alert Adjudication and within agreed deadlines. 1) Alert adjudication and investigation (Level 3) Investigate Level 3 sanctions alerts for transaction activity and determine False Positive vs Potential/Confirmed True Match in line with global standards. Complete adjudication within agreed deadlines/SLA, with appropriate escalation and mitigating actions where items are not meeting SLA. Ensure clarity and accuracy when providing information to team members and other stakeholders. Maintain complete, accurate case documentation to support decisions. Ensure full adherence to Global Standards Policy within the region, including related sanctions guidance and operating procedures. Support the Alert Adjudication Lead in identifying sanctions themes and trends. Assist with periodic reviews of sanctions standards (procedures, risk-based approaches and QA). Work closely with the Regional Alert Adjudication Lead to support engagement with FCC Monitoring & Testing and FCC Assurance to deploy system and procedural changes effectively. Support senior management in engagement with Internal Audit by supplying information in a timely and accurate manner as required. Provide support in managing sanctions risk for the region and help businesses/functions address actual and potential sanctions compliance issues. Support responses to adverse compliance metrics, including unsatisfactory FCC reviews and audit reports. Processing targets are met; alerts are processed error-free and on time. Support delivery of the global strategy for the FCC Sanctions function into the region. Deputise for the Adjudication Lead when required. Prioritise learning and development activities. Build positive, professional working relationships across regional and country teams; support coaching and mentoring, particularly for new joiners. Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and re-prioritise based on changing team demands. University degree in International Relations/Political Science (preferred but not mandatory). Strong critical thinking skills. Interest/awareness of geopolitical events that have/could impact sanctions. Ability to interpret and solve complex issues (lateral thinking). High level of English language skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication skills with strong interpersonal and influencing capability. Ability to adapt to change and provide input where necessary. Chinese language skills (an asset, but neither preferred nor mandatory).
