The Role

Chief Health Officer is a member of the HSBC Life Singapore Operating Committee reporting to the Chief Executive Officer with responsibility for the strategic leadership, growth and profitability of our Health business. This role has end-to-end accountability for the full Health portfolio including Employee Benefits (Group Life and Group Medical), Integrated Shield Plans, International Private Medical Insurance (IPMI) and health and well-being propositions. You’ll define and execute the health strategy balancing profitable growth with disciplined portfolio management and strong underwriting standards. Success means delivering sustainable financial performance while creating differentiated customer value through innovative solutions, strategic healthcare partnerships and market-leading service. You’ll represent HSBC Life externally with regulators, healthcare partners, employers, intermediaries and industry associations.

What you'll be doing

• Set and execute the long-term Health strategy aligned with HSBC Life Singapore’s corporate strategy
• Shape Health as a strategic growth engine by identifying market opportunities, healthcare trends and evolving customer needs
• Own the end-to-end financial performance of the Health business including revenue growth, expense management, profitability and combined ratio
• Govern portfolio performance across Group Medical, Group Life, Shield and IPMI including pricing strategy, product mix and profitability monitoring
• Strengthen claims efficiency while maintaining an exceptional customer experience across the customer lifecycle
• Build strategies to manage medical inflation through provider partnerships, preventative health initiatives and analytics-driven interventions
• Partner with distribution channels to accelerate profitable growth across intermediaries, tied agency, the Bank, affinity partners, digital channels and corporate partnerships
• Champion client satisfaction and retention by sponsoring strategic accounts and overseeing major renewals, tenders and strategic opportunities
• Develop new products, wellness solutions and digital health propositions and build partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem

What we're looking for

• Bring subject matter expertise in Singapore’s public and private healthcare industry
• Demonstrate a proven track record of growth, profitability and end-to-end P&L management in the Health space
• Show deep understanding of retail and corporate Health solutions in Singapore
• Maintain established relationships across the healthcare ecosystem including intermediaries, providers and Third-Party Administrators (TPAs)
• Deliver large-scale growth initiatives with clear execution focus and measurable outcomes
• Influence effectively at Executive level including with regulators, partners and internal stakeholders
• Build and develop senior teams including succession planning and future leadership capability
• Communicate clearly in writing and in person with strong stakeholder management and partnering skills
• Apply commercial and financial judgement to balance growth, underwriting discipline and portfolio quality
• Act with personal integrity and values aligned to HSBC core values
