Responsibilities:
Client Service Manager (CSM) — Corporate Trust Issuer Services (ISV)
- This role requires delivering high quality Client Management performance to ensure a first-class service is delivered to our clients. It is also for a Modelling Specialist to provide senior analytical and data modelling support on the assets, liabilities and cash-flows of securitisation and loan transactions, where the Issuer Services business has been mandated to perform calculation and reporting obligations on behalf of the issuer, for investors.
- The Client Service Manager (CSM) is the dedicated client advocate for ISV clients, ensuring they receive a consistently high standard of service across the Corporate Trust business. The CSM works closely with key internal stakeholders—such as Coverage Teams, DCM, Digital Asset, ECM and Structured Finance—to coordinate support and deliver seamless client outcomes. The role will also be focused around cash-flow modelling and reporting for a wide spectrum of securitisation asset classes (RMBS, CMBS, Auto Loans, BNPL, Consumer Loans, Leases, Receivables, Student Loans, Energy Receivables and Covered Bonds) and will include the modelling, set-up and delivery of: asset/portfolio data, payment priority waterfalls, structural deal mechanics, investor reporting, portfolio performance reporting and regulatory template reporting.
- The CSM’s coverage spans a broad range of Corporate Trust solutions, including bond transactions (for example structured and conventional standalone debt, large debt programmes, structured programmes and structure finance).
- While operations are managed separately, CSM supports all other aspects of these products. A core responsibility is overseeing post-closing, day-to-day servicing of Corporate Trust transactions—particularly large conventional and structured debt programmes in Hong Kong and across Asia Pacific. This includes responding to client enquiries, managing consent and amendment requests, monitoring covenant submissions, and conducting periodic transaction reviews.
- To deliver smooth end-to-end client experience, the CSM partners regularly with Bank Relationship Managers, Business Development, Transaction Management, Business Support and Operations during onboarding and throughout the client lifecycle, especially when issues arise. The CSM also acts as the primary escalation point for client-related matters within their assigned portfolio.
- This role requires building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, internal teams, partners and other offices to ensure issues are resolved promptly and to a satisfactory conclusion. The CSM is expected to take a proactive approach to client engagement, meeting clients regularly, identifying retention opportunities, and strengthening relationships with key market participants. The role also involves supporting a number of the department’s latest technology solutions (client reporting portal, data modelling and report design software). There are also great opportunities to support and interact with a number of the Issuer Services teams (Client Services, Business Development, Transaction Management, Product and Technology).
Requirements:
- A degree holder with significant banking experience with strong and sound product knowledge and experience of the corporate trust products or debt capital markets
- Knowledge of trustees, paying agent, calculation agent, transfer agent, common depository and registrar is a plus.
- Solid working knowledge in compliance issues.
- Strong people skill and experience.
- Proactive, self-motivated and able develop and motivate more junior team members.
- Ability to work under pressure effectively and independently while managing multiple tasks.
- Thorough understanding of industry standards and strong understanding of operational risk and best practices.
- Team player, both internally and externally.
- Willing to face challenges and accept additional responsibilities.
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English; proficiency in Cantonese and Putonghua would be a definite advantage.
- Excellent PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Substantial experience in Corporate Trust/Issuer Services/Structured Finance business (or similar).
- Good understanding of structured finance, securitisations (ABS/MBS) or loan products.
- Advanced Excel skills, proficient in data manipulation.
