Position Purpose:
The Sr. Business Analyst plays a critical role at the intersection of strategy, operations, and execution for Home Depot Installation Services (HDIS). This role is responsible for defining how installation work is scoped, priced, and executed—ensuring consistency, operational clarity, and financial performance across the business. Partnering across merchandising, field operations, and systems, the Sr. Business Analyst translates real-world complexity into standardized labor definitions, pricing structures, and scalable processes.
This role goes beyond reporting to drive outcomes. The Sr. Business Analyst uses data to identify meaningful business problems, translate root causes into actionable solutions, and influence decisions that improve margin, consistency, and execution. Success requires the ability to simplify complexity, align cross-functional partners, and deliver solutions that work in both the field and in our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- 50% Lead all phases of a project's life cycle including defining the business need, establishing criteria and business requirements, understanding the impact to the business and designing and rolling out the project
- 25% Serve as a subject matter expert and perform research and/or analysis within assigned projects or category of business
- 25% Establish and report on metrics of assigned projects or categories to gauge business value

- No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

- Must be eighteen years of age or older.

- Experience translating complex operational or field-based work into standardized processes, pricing structures, or system logic
- Proven ability to connect data to business outcomes—identifying root causes, influencing decisions, and driving measurable improvements
- Experience working at the intersection of operations, systems, and business strategy (e.g., retail services, field operations, installation, supply chain, or similar environments)
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to move beyond reporting to actionable insights (experience with statistical methods or modeling remains relevant, but practical application is key)
- Demonstrated success navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in undefined or evolving problem spaces
- Experience identifying and resolving process gaps, system defects, or operational friction points
- Ability to balance trade-offs between financial performance, customer experience, and field execution realities
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills with experience influencing without authority across field teams, merchandising, and product/system partners
- Experience designing scalable solutions that can be applied consistently across a national or multi-market footprint
- Background in consulting, strategy, or project-based roles where ownership of outcomes—not just analysis—was required
- PMP or formal project management experience is a plus, but not required
