The opportunity
Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services. Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you’ll make an impact
1. You will lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S.
2.You will analyze existing manufacturing processes, identify bottlenecks, waste, and areas for improvement.
3. You will develop and implement solutions to enhance production efficiency, reduce cycle times, and improve product quality.
4. You will conduct time studies, process mapping, and value stream mapping to identify opportunities for optimization.
5. You will collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure successful implementation of improvement projects.
6. You will develop and deliver training programs for production staff on new processes, tools, and continuous improvement principles.
7. You will monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost savings.
8. You will support the standardization of manufacturing processes and best practices across the facility.
9. You will participate in root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
10. You will assist in the selection, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and technology.
11. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing) or a related technical field.
2. Proven experience (3+ years) in manufacturing process improvement, lean manufacturing, or industrial engineering roles, preferably in a heavy manufacturing or electrical equipment industry.
3. Strong understanding and practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban) and Six Sigma methodologies.
4. Demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex manufacturing problems.
5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
7. Experience with transformer manufacturing processes is a significant advantage.
8. Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese is highly desirable.
