TL;DR: We’re looking for a detail-oriented contractor to help us manage content and audio QA at Hallow — the last set of ears and eyes before anything goes live in the app.
What You'll Do
- Audio QA: Listen through audio files for English launches in a detailed manner, catching any and all mistakes, and communicating any issues to the Audio team. This role will occasionally include weekend assignments when content drops require it.
- In-App QA: Check all media on app before going live to ensure a consistent and high-quality UX
- Audio-to-text Transcription: Use provided transcription software to turn our audio sessions into text, proof text in detail ensuring accuracy with both grammar and format. You’ll also be responsible for uploading transcription/texts to the app.
- Content Tracking: Review and update spreadsheets containing monthly scripture references, session data, and content metadata.
What You'll Love
- Mission: This work is incredibly humbling. Every day we hear amazing stories and we get the pleasure of working on something that’s impacting lives. One of our favorite user quotes: “I hate quoting an old, overused cliche, but I’ve been very lost. And I think for the first time in a while I may be found.”
- Ownership: You’ll help us manage the content/audio QA process. You’ll be the last set of ears on our audio so you’ll be directly responsible for ensuring the best possible experience for our community.
- Growth: From day 1, you’ll be a part of the startup journey. The content and audio library is growing fast — your QA work directly shapes what millions of people actually hear.
- Flexibility: HQ is in Chicago (USA); this position is remote. We’re super flexible with location/hours; we don’t care when you work, just that it gets done.
- Comp: We will pay competitive market rates for this hourly contract position.
What We're Looking For
- Passion: First & foremost, we’re looking for someone excited about our mission. It makes it a lot more fun :)
- Grit: Perseverance and attention to detail are key for this role. You bring strong organizational skills and a sense of ownership, especially when the work is self-directed.
- Flexibility & adaptability: You’re comfortable with tight turn-arounds and shifting priorities — you can jump right in and pivot when the work evolves.
- Experience: Native or near-native English proficiency is required. Beyond that, we care most about sharp attention to detail and the ability to pick up new tools quickly. Prior transcription or audio QA experience is a plus, as is past experience operating in a fast-moving environment.
