WHAT YOU'LL DO AT H1
As a Lead People Business Partner, you'll serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders while owning several of H1's most impactful People programs. You'll partner closely with the SVP, People and business leaders to shape organizational strategy, develop leaders, and build scalable people practices that help our teams thrive. This role balances executive partnership with hands-on execution—you'll coach leaders through complex people challenges, use data to drive decisions, and continuously improve the employee experience across every stage of the employee lifecycle.
You will:
Partner with senior leaders to develop people strategies that improve organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, employee engagement, and team performance.
Influence H1's performance management philosophy and annual processes, guiding leaders through goal setting, calibration, performance reviews, promotions, and performance improvement plans while ensuring consistency and fairness across the organization.
Design, lead, and continuously improve key People programs, including onboarding, manager development, 360 feedback, engagement surveys, and employee lifecycle initiatives.
Manage H1's biannual Culture Amp engagement survey process, analyze organizational health metrics and turnover trends, facilitate quarterly churn reviews, and translate insights into actionable recommendations for leadership.
Coach managers through complex employee relations matters, organizational change, performance concerns, career development conversations, and difficult leadership decisions while serving as a trusted advisor across the business.
Lead complex employee relations investigations and partner with leaders to resolve sensitive employee issues with sound judgment and a people-first approach.
Drive continuous improvement of the employee experience by leading initiatives including onboarding, the Buddy Program, exit interview analysis, Business Resource Groups, and other culture-building programs.
Partner cross-functionally with Recruiting, Finance, Legal, and executive leadership to implement scalable People initiatives and support workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategy.
Provide strategic oversight of the NYC employee experience by partnering with the Office Assistant on workplace operations, facilities, vendors, and employee events.
Mentor members of the People team by sharing best practices, elevating HRBP capabilities, and helping build a high-performing People function.

REQUIREMENTS
7+ years of progressive experience as an HR Business Partner, People Business Partner, or similar strategic People role within SaaS, technology, or another fast-paced, high-growth tech-centric environment
Demonstrated experience partnering with Director and VP-level leaders on organizational design, talent strategy, leadership coaching, and organizational effectiveness
Proven success designing, owning, and continuously improving company-wide People programs such as onboarding, performance management, engagement, leadership development, or employee experience initiatives
Significant experience leading employee relations matters, investigations, and performance management processes
Strong analytical skills with experience using HR metrics and engagement data to influence business decisions
Experience with Employee Engagement, HRIS, and people analytics platforms
Experience leveraging AI, automation, Excel, and/or Google Sheets, along with other technology to improve People processes and decision-making
COMPENSATION
This role offers a base salary of $150,000–$175,000, paid based on experience. This role also offers equity.
