Join our Gödöllő manufacturing site and play a key role in driving EHS excellence in a highly regulated production environment. As a Senior EHS Specialist, you will partner with site leadership, operational teams, and global experts to strengthen our safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and support sustainability initiatives that make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate environmental, occupational health, safety, and fire protection activities in compliance with Hungarian legislation, EU regulations, and global company standards.
Lead and support the implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of the site EHS Management System.
Drive environmental sustainability programs, including emissions reduction, resource efficiency, waste management, and ADR-related activities.
Develop, maintain, and improve EHS policies, procedures, training programs, and compliance frameworks.
Manage and coordinate site-level risk assessment programs, ensuring alignment with legal and corporate requirements.
Lead ergonomics and fall protection programs, identifying improvement opportunities and coordinating implementation projects.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses using structured root-cause analysis methodologies, ensuring effective corrective actions.
Support internal and external audits, manage regulatory interactions, and collaborate with global EHS subject matter experts and site leadership teams.
Act as the site focal point for regional and global Environmental, Ergonomics, Risk Management and Working at Heights subject matter experts, providing specialist support and knowledge sharing.
Promote continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen safety performance and operational excellence
Basic Qualifications & skills:
Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health & Safety, or another relevant technical/scientific field.
Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, or similarly regulated industry.
Strong knowledge of environmental protection, occupational health and safety regulations, and EHS management systems.
Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis, risk assessment methodologies, and continuous improvement tools (e.g., DMAIC, Kaizen, Lean methodologies).
Native Hungarian and fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, presentation, and communication skills across all organizational levels.
Experience with Microsoft 365 applications and data-driven tools such as Power BI is an advantage.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality, integrity, and compliance
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in GMP/GxP-regulated manufacturing environments.
Environmental Protection professional and/or Occupational Health & Safety qualifications.
Experience supporting regulatory inspections and external audits.
Knowledge of ergonomics and workplace design principles.
Experience leading cross-functional improvement projects.
Familiarity with digital EHS systems, compliance management tools, and web-based databases.
