As a Medical Advisor – Respiratory (COPD) at GSK, you will be a key scientific leader within Medical Affairs, shaping the future of our COPD portfolio in the Respiratory franchise. You’ll combine deep clinical expertise with strategic thinking to drive impactful medical activities and help bring innovative therapies to patients across Canada.
In this role, you will:
Be the Medical Affairs voice on the Respiratory cross-functional team, partnering closely with colleagues in Commercial, Market Access, Clinical, and other functions to deliver an aligned strategy and engage key internal and external stakeholders.
Lead medical strategy for the respiratory IL-5 portfolio with a focus on COPD, providing expert input and guidance to support evidence generation, launch planning, and lifecycle management.
Shape and deliver local research strategies, identifying and addressing data gaps and advancing the scientific and clinical understanding of GSK medicines through investigator-initiated studies and other research initiatives.
Drive high-impact external scientific exchange, building strong relationships with the scientific and medical community through 1:1 engagements, advisory boards, medical education programs, congress presentations, publications, and congress sponsorships—and ensuring the “medical voice of the customer” is heard inside GSK.
Provide trusted scientific leadership across teams, working with Canadian Medical, cross-functional partners, and global colleagues to develop and execute an integrated local medical strategy and customer engagement plans that optimize the use of GSK Respiratory products in the Canadian market.

Provide expert scientific product and disease knowledge and trusted medical leadership to GSK Canada and to above country Medical Networks
Build and leverage high-quality scientific knowledge and capability expertise across the enterprise in collaboration with Medical Strategic Operations and Capability Excellence
Deliver external engagement excellence characterized by timely, responsible and responsive interactions with the external medical and scientific community to achieve a two-way trusted scientific partnership
Accountable for regular review and analysis of data analytics and medical voice of customer to derive insights and develop action plans to deliver on the medical strategy
Lead, develop and implement a local Medical Strategic Plan in COPD including:
Identifying areas of research interest and developing timely local study protocols which advance the scientific understanding of our medications
Identifying areas of medical education interest
Identifying advisory board/1:1 interaction needs and leading their implementation and follow-up.
Ensuring alignment with commercial strategic planning
Managing research budget and budget forecasting processes for assigned products and therapy areas

Basic Qualifications
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals
Degree in medicine, pharmacy, clinical science, or a related health science; advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) preferred.
Minimum 3 years of relevant clinical, academic, or industry experience in Medical Affairs, clinical development, or a therapeutic specialty.
Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare system and clinical practice environment.
Demonstrated ability to apply scientific knowledge to develop and lead research programs, including timely and meaningful research protocols and study reports.
Proven ability to engage credibly and build relationships with internal and external partners, including healthcare professionals, investigators, Key External Experts, and global stakeholders.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into compelling scientific storytelling for diverse stakeholders.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver through strong planning and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus
Advanced clinical or scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) and active clinical practice or academic involvement.
Previous Medical Affairs experience in the therapy area relevant to the role.
Experience designing or managing local clinical research or investigator-initiated studies.
Track record of publications, congress presentations, or advisory board leadership.
Experience working within cross-functional teams and partnering with commercial colleagues.
Familiarity with medical compliance frameworks and standards for interactions with healthcare professionals.
Working model
This role is hybrid. You will split time between remote work and our office in Mississauga as required. Travel to scientific meetings and field engagements will be expected.
