Goldman Sachs Electronic Trading (GSET) provides institutional clients with direct market access (DMA) and a premier suite of algorithmic trading strategies across global markets.

The GSET Quant Coverage team acts as execution consultants and product implementation specialists. We bridge the gap between complex quantitative trading technology and our clients' day-to-day execution needs. The team works in tight partnership with Sales, Trading, Prime Brokerage, and Execution Technology to onboard clients, optimize their trading workflows, and support real-time execution.

This role uniquely blends client-facing problem solving with project management and product implementation. The work is highly hands-on across data, APIs, FIX/EMS integration, and algorithmic platform rollouts. The best performers in this seat are technically fluent, proactive, and client-friendly.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

• Execution Consulting: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, analyzing execution performance, explaining market microstructure, and recommending optimal algorithmic strategies.
• Project Management: Drive end-to-end implementation projects, translating client requirements into technical deliverables in collaboration with internal engineering and product teams.
• Production & Risk Management: Monitor real-time trading flows, triage system alerts, resolve STP issues, and ensure a resilient risk and control environment.
• Performance Analytics: Track and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) such as latency, SLAs, and execution quality metrics to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Client Onboarding & Implementation: Lead the technical onboarding of institutional clients, managing FIX connectivity, EMS integrations, and custom algorithmic setups.

Basic Qualifications

• Core Attributes: Smart, curious, and project-driven with a strong problem-solving mindset.
• Relationship Management: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships with institutional clients.
• Execution & Delivery: Strong track record of managing projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering under tight deadlines.
• Analytical Skills: Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude; comfortable working with data to draw commercial conclusions.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with electronic trading workflows, FIX protocol, Order/Execution Management Systems (OMS/EMS), and algorithmic trading.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 1 year work experience in Listed derivatives i.e Futures & Options trade support, equity settlement, trade middle office, or cash processing role
• Futures and options Industry and market knowledge would be an advantage
• Experience of vendor platforms (GMI, Traiana etc.) would be an advantage
