We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) Engineer who has vast experience in System design, Studies, Control & Electrical design aspects to support the Application Engineering. Knowledge on SCADA, Installation & Commissioning of FACTS applications will be an added advantage. Work also involves focus on the design optimization, execution & automizing of the simulation studies, supporting for technical papers & Conferences. This position involves technical interactions with both Utility & Industrial customers, EPCs in APAC region.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Specifying FACTS Main circuit equipment’s such as power transformer, Valves, Cooling system, Capacitors, Reactors, CT, VTs, Circuit breakers, MOVs, synchronous condensers etc based on international standards and customer technical specifications.
- Coordination with equipment suppliers to review and optimize the main equipment’s design.
- Support sales through technical expertise, presentations, and in‑depth product demonstrations on required basis.
- Creating and validating power system equivalents in RMS (PSSE/ DIgSILENT) and EMT (PSCAD/EMTP) software packages.
- Understanding controlling algorithms and keep one-self updated with new control methodologies for FACTS application.
- Reviewing dynamic performance studies, in RMS and EMT software packages, with FACTS devices integrated in power system networks in-line with customer requirements.
- Coordinating and communicating with Solution line, Region disciplines involved in project and tender deliveries and following time schedule, budget and quality of deliverables.
- Participating in customer discussions to support Application Engineering in customer acquisition and consultation.
Required Qualifications
- MTech or PHD in Power Systems or B.E/B. Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- 8 - 12 years of experience with in-depth knowledge of applications such as FACTS, Renewable Energy Resources and battery energy storage plants.
- Knowledge of Simulation tools like PSCAD/PSSE /DIgSILENT/EMTP/RTDS/MATLAB.
- Knowledge of international standards (i.e., IEEE/IEC/GIGRE) for specifying power system studies aspects.
- Understanding of basics of power system steady state, dynamic and transient behaviour.
- Basic knowledge on Electrical & Control design, HMI, SCADA, Communication architecture is desired.
- Good team player with ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
- Good communication skills and well-organized individual. Good focus on attention to details.
- Ability to work effectively in fast paced and highly fluctuating workload environment. Ambitious, creative thinker and problem solver.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
