Job Description Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly strategic individual to lead the supply chain controllership function supporting our global manufacturing and supply chain operations. This leader will be responsible for inventory accounting, manufacturing cost accounting, standard costing, logistics accounting, compensation & benefits accounting, capital investment accounting, and supply chain financial controls. This leader will partner closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Operations, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Executive Leadership to ensure financial integrity while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will possess deep technical accounting expertise, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders while driving operational excellence across a large, global organization. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting and strengthening governance across the manufacturing and supply chain organizations.
Job Description
- Accountable for the Supply Chain Controllership organization supporting a global manufacturing and distribution network.
- Develop and execute the controllership strategy for manufacturing operations, inventory management, procurement, logistics, and distribution.
- Develop and execute the vision, operating model, and talent strategy for the Supply Chain Controllership organization.
- Build and develop a high-performing team through coaching, succession planning, and performance management.
- Establish consistent accounting policies and governance across business units.
- Establish scalable accounting processes supporting growth, acquisition, and operational transformation.
- Ensure accurate accounting for raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods, spare parts, excess and obsolete inventory.
- Oversee standard cost development and annual cost roll process.
- Monitor manufacturing variances including purchase price variance, production variance, labor efficiency, material usage, scrap, yield, freight, overhead absorption.
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation under U.S. GAAP.
- Partner with the Technical Accounting team on complex accounting conclusions.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities timely and accurately for supply chain accounting including compensation & benefits accounting and capital investments accounting.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of inventory, cost of goods sold, manufacturing variances, fixed assets, inventory reserves, freight and logistics expenses.
- Support external reporting requirements and SEC disclosures where applicable including disaggregation of income statement expenses (DISE) disclosures.
- Utilize Lean principles to implement standardization and continuous improvement across supply chain controllership processes.
- Drive supply chain controllership innovation by leveraging ERP-based tools, analytics, artificial intelligence, and other digital tools.
- Improve close timelines while enhancing quality and control.
- Operate with one team mindset and serve as a strategic partner to key customers in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Operations, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Executive Leadership.
- Maintain strong SOX-compliant internal controls over supply chain controllership processes.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Internal Audit and external auditors during audits and control assessments.
- Drive remediation of audit findings and process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Major experience in supply chain accounting or other controllership areas.
- Strong experience & knowledge in Electrification supply chain controllership activities.
- Experience working across multi-country / multi-entity finance operations.
- Demonstrated ability to document processes and standard work (process mapping / VSM experience preferred).
- Strong data analysis skills (advanced Excel; exposure to Power BI, or similar a plus).
