Responsibilities:
- Operation of a single machine or a wide range of production equipment in accordance with work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOP), visual standards and other Company policies and procedures.
- Achieves or exceeds individual or team output as well as scrap targets. Depending upon the site and/or operation, employees may be responsible for a high volume of finished products (up to 10,000 parts per shift)
- Proactively notifies lead operators, production supervision, equipment maintenance, quality and other personnel as appropriate of issues negatively impacting output or product quality.
- Process rejected material/product for review and/or rework based upon the Company’s guidelines. Operator may be required to trim, buff, rework and or assemble parts as part of the production process.
- May be cross-trained in product inspection; if so, is expected to have a working knowledge of quality standards and alerts and to ensure specifications are being satisfied.
- Places conforming product into the proper boxes, totes or other approved packing containers. Ensures proper tracking and/or classification of rejected product.
- Ensures box labels, transfer tags, inspection stamps and other key data and/or documents are completed as required.
- May stack or load bins, boxes or totes of raw materials or finished goods.
- Places non-conforming product into the designated discard or material review areas.
- Performs required daily/weekly/monthly equipment checks.
- Over time, may be able to identify issues negatively impacting equipment performance or product/material scrap.
- Maintains good housekeeping/5S at all times to ensure a clean, organized and safe work area.
- May participate in problem solving activities or teams geared toward continuous improvement.
- May update visual control boards or complete other production reports. Provides support as needed during site visits by customers, auditors and other guests.
- Ensures compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations in the workplace. Recognizes unsafe conditions and reports them immediately.
- May be cross-trained on multiple machines or functions and will be expected to complete job-specific training as required.
- Performs all other duties as may be assigned or required.
Qualifications:
High school education or GED preferred
Entry level position; 0-2 years’ production or assembly experience.
On the job training will be provided.
