Your role as a Manufacturing Engineer will be to support and drive improvement to our critical manufacturing functions. We have two sets of customers—our builders, who order parts through us, and our manufacturing partners, who manufacture and assemble these parts—and you’ll be consistently working at the interface between the two. At Fictiv, we believe in creating the world’s premier platform for hardware manufacturing, and you’ll be playing a critical role in making that happen.
In your role as the , you will be reviewing and analyzing the manufacturability and costs associated with fabrication (including CNC machining, injection molding, urethane casting, and other manufacturing processes) submitted by our builders. In this role, you’ll utilize your Mechanical Engineering background and knowledge of manufacturing processes to identify design changes that may be necessary to meet our builders' specifications.
You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Lead.
RFQ Preparation- review the request in each RFQ from the 3D drawing, 2D drawing, RFQ notes and other information, to clarify with Sales or manager if anything is not clear.
Quoting – Combine your analysis with Fictiv’s MP’s feedback to provide the competitive price to each RFQs. and clarify the quote to the sales team if any question from them.
DFM – Combine your analysis with Fictiv’s MP’s feedback to provide the manufacturing analysis. Such as tolerance, Radii, Unachievable features etc.and clarify the DFM to the sales team if any question from them.
Program Quote management-Support the quote management for the program,make all the requirements clear for all part items on quote stage, hand-in the quote/DFM, manage the quote/DFM reversion on quote stage, communicate with US sales to clarify any technical questions related to the quote. Work with sales admin to make sure the order information is clear after receiving the PO.
Tools development – Use your fabrication expertise and understanding of process cost drivers to develop cost calculators or related tools that allow for Fictiv to bring quoting in-house or to improve the efficiency of work.
