1. Purpose

The TTT Senior Consultant is an execution-focused, client-facing role responsible for delivering key work products on tax transformation and tax technology engagements across Corporate Tax, Indirect Tax, and Accounting Compliance & Reporting. The role works closely with client Tax/Finance/Technology stakeholders to translate requirements into practical solutions—building data preparation workflows, reconciliations, dashboards, testing artifacts, and implementation documentation that enable measurable compliance and reporting outcomes.

The Senior Consultant operates as a core delivery contributor, independently owning assigned components end-to-end (under Manager/Senior Manager direction) and ensuring outputs are accurate, repeatable, and client-ready.

2. Expected outcomes from the role (measurable “what success looks like”)

1. Tax & compliance delivery outcomes

• Produces high-quality deliverables (requirements notes, data mappings, reconciliations, reporting outputs, test evidence) with minimal rework and clear traceability from input data to reported results.
• Supports improvements in data reliability for tax and compliance reporting through structured validation and reconciliation routines consistent with “data improvement and information access” outcomes.

2. Indirect Tax & eInvoicing outcomes

• Supports indirect tax reporting improvements through data readiness, validations, and exception handling routines.
• Where in scope, supports eInvoicing delivery and related reporting outputs, including data-driven VAT reporting frameworks, by assisting with requirements, data validation, testing, and reporting checks.

3. Analytics & reporting outcomes (tools-driven)

• Builds repeatable analytics workflows using tools such as Alteryx and develops dashboards/insight outputs using Tableau (or equivalent), supported by SQL-based data extraction and validation.

4. AI outcomes (practical support + validation)

• Supports AI/GenAI-enabled use cases by preparing structured inputs, documenting requirements and acceptance criteria, validating outputs, and supporting adoption activities (user guidance and feedback capture).

5. Client experience outcomes

• Builds client confidence through responsiveness, clarity, and structured problem solving; contributes to workshops with prepared analysis, clear options, and actionable next steps.

4. Technical competencies

12. Tax and compliance functional capability (execution depth)

• Working understanding of Corporate Tax, Indirect Tax, and accounting-related compliance/reporting processes, and how data from source systems supports filings and reporting outputs.

13. Data, analytics & validation (tools capability — required)

• Strong working capability in SQL (joins, aggregations, validation logic, reconciliation support).
• Hands-on proficiency in Alteryx for data preparation/workflows and Tableau for dashboarding/insights (or equivalent tools used on engagements).
• Ability to execute data quality checks, reconciliations, and exception monitoring rules; explain results clearly to client stakeholders.

14. eInvoicing & digital indirect tax reporting (preferred but valuable)

• Understanding of eInvoicing delivery components (data fields, process impacts, integration touchpoints) and ability to support VAT reporting framework validation and testing where required.

15. AI/GenAI delivery support (required awareness)

• Ability to support AI/GenAI initiatives by preparing validation datasets, defining acceptance criteria, testing output quality, and supporting adoption activities.

16. SDLC and testing discipline (required)

• Ability to create and maintain delivery artifacts such as user stories/requirements notes, data mapping sheets, test scenarios/scripts, defect logs, and evidence packs; comfort working with developers and technical teams through build/test cycles.

 

17. Change enablement (execution support)

• Ability to support adoption by developing user guides/training materials, capturing user feedback, and supporting handover documentation.

 

5. Key responsibilities (what the role does)

18. Requirements support and solution development (client collaboration)

• Support requirements gathering through workshops and working sessions; document requirements, scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
• Translate requirements into structured delivery artifacts (data mappings, business rules, process steps) and validate with client stakeholders.

19. Data preparation, validation and reconciliation (hands-on delivery)

• Extract and validate data using SQL; perform reconciliations, investigate variances, and document findings clearly.
• Build repeatable workflows using Alteryx (or equivalent) to clean, transform, and standardize datasets for reporting/analytics.

20. Dashboarding and reporting insights (hands-on delivery)

• Develop dashboards and analytics outputs using Tableau (or equivalent), ensuring metrics are correctly defined and outputs are refreshable and repeatable.

21. eInvoicing and VAT reporting support (where applicable)

• Support eInvoicing activities: data readiness, validation of mandatory fields, testing support, and reporting output checks (including data-driven VAT reporting frameworks where in scope).

22. Testing and implementation support (build-test-deploy)

• Prepare SIT/UAT assets: test scenarios, scripts, test data, execution trackers, defect logs, and retest evidence.
• Support deployment readiness through checklists, user readiness inputs, and hypercare issue triage.

23. AI/GenAI use case support

• Support AI/GenAI solutions by documenting requirements, preparing validation datasets, validating outputs against acceptance criteria, and supporting adoption readiness activities.

24. Delivery governance and reporting (mandatory)

• Maintain task/workplan updates; provide RAID inputs; highlight dependencies early; escalate risks/issues promptly.

25. Coaching and quality support

• Guide Consultants and junior staff on analysis, data validation, and dashboarding tasks; perform first-level quality reviews before Manager review.

26. Mobility (mandatory)

• Travel across MENA for key workshops and delivery milestones as required.

 

6. Qualifications and experience

Required

• Typically 5+ years experience in tax technology delivery, compliance/reporting transformation, data & analytics delivery, or consulting/industry roles involving tax data and reporting.
• Hands-on capability with SQL and at least one analytics workflow and dashboarding tool—preferably Alteryx and Tableau—to deliver reconciliations, dashboards, and reporting outputs.
• Demonstrated ability to support testing cycles (SIT/UAT), manage defects, and produce clear documentation for software-enabled solutions.

Preferred

• Experience supporting eInvoicing and VAT digital reporting initiatives, including data-driven VAT reporting frameworks.
• Exposure to AI/GenAI-enabled delivery support activities (validation, adoption support, quality controls through human oversight).

Relevant credentials aligned to role focus (tax/accounting qualification, data/analytics certifications, agile/testing credentials) (recommendation).
