Manager - International Tax Advisory for Multinational Groups & SMEs (Zurich)

Our Europe West International Tax and Transaction Services (ITTS) team in Zurich advises leading Swiss and multinational clients on complex tax matters. As part of our growing practice, you will lead and support engagements across international tax planning, operating model transformations, Pillar Two, R&D incentives and cross-border transactions.

 

This role offers significant client exposure, technical depth and attractive career development opportunities. As a Manager, you will manage client relationships, lead engagements, coach junior professionals and contribute to the continued growth of our high-performing team.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

• Lead Swiss and international tax advisory and transaction projects for multinational groups, privately owned businesses and SMEs
• Advise clients on international tax planning, restructurings, acquisitions, divestitures, financing structures, operating model transformations and R&D projects
• Manage client relationships and act as a trusted advisor on complex cross-border tax matters.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the tax practice
• Coach and develop junior team members in a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Work closely with EY teams across jurisdictions to deliver seamless cross-border services to our clients

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

• University degree in Law, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, complemented by an advanced tax qualification such as the Swiss Certified Tax Expert designation or a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Taxation
• Several years of experience in Swiss and international taxation are required
• Key attributes for success in this role include a collaborative mindset, strong client focus, drive, commitment, and the ability to quickly grasp complex topics. Given our strong and growing client base, we place particular value on high-quality client delivery, technical excellence, and trusted advisor skills
• As part of an international organization, fluency in German and English is required
• Strong interest in digitalization, AI, automation, and emerging technologies, with exposure to tax technology, AI tools, or agent-based solutions considered a plus
