Entegris is seeking an Analytical Chemist with general knowledge of analytical chemistry and techniques applied to the characterization of complex mixtures. This knowledge is required to validate analytical methods, provide support to the Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality groups via QC analysis. This opportunity allows the right person to expand their technical skill set and participate on a dynamic team in a growing organization.
The ideal candidate will be results oriented and an excellent team player, with solid knowledge of chemistry, materials science & physics, and familiarity with semiconductor device materials, structures, and metrology.
In this role you will
Set up and qualify instrumentation in a new laboratory in accordance with Entegris V&Q procedures.
Assist w/ set up of the LIMS system.
Test and analyze raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and R&D samples using analytical instruments as directed by existing work instructions.
Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and laboratory equipment.
Establish and drive continuous improvement of existing laboratory processes, analytical methods, documentation, and training materials.
Collaborate and participate in cross-functional teams as analytical subject matter expert.
Work w/ lab team to obtain ISO 17025 accreditation.
Coordinate and schedule analytical testing based on production needs.
Traits we believe make a strong candidate
Bachelor of Science in chemistry, physics or engineering required, Masters preferred.
General lab instrument (HPLC, IC, GC, GC-MS, FTIR, Raman, ICP-MS, ICP-OES) operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting experience.
2+ years of related technical experience or training preferred.
Experience working in a laboratory that conforms to ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 accreditations.
Experience working with air and moisture sensitive chemicals preferred
Familiarity with the following instrument software preferred: Mass Hunter, OPUS and OpenLab.
JMP and Minitab statistical software experience preferred.
Lab installation and qualification of new analytical equipment experience preferred.
Experience with validation of methods preferred
Prior experience working in cleanroom environment preferred
Prior experience handling and maintaining glovebox preferred
Knowledge of analytical laboratory regulation with regard to gases such H2, Ar, He, NH3, and O2 preferred
Knowledge of proper safe handling/disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace
Hands-on experience with applicable quality tools such as pareto, FMEA’s, SPC/SQC, histograms, trend analysis, process mapping, design of experiments, cause and effect diagrams, 8D problem solving methodology
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in written and spoken English.
Strong independent operation skills and ability to complete lab work safely
Basic computer knowledge, including MS Office; LIMS experience preferred
Ability to travel 5% of time, some international.

Conferring with process engineers, development scientists, and manufacturing personnel regarding results and research, preparing technical reports and presentations to promote learning.
Proven ability to work in a cross-cultural and cross-language team environment.
Ability to learn and become proficient at several analytical techniques.
