About the group and the position:
At eBay, we have built one of the largest ad marketplaces in ecommerce, and one of the fastest-growing businesses within the company. We are on a mission to help sellers and brands of all sizes use advertising to drive meaningful impact for their businesses. We are accomplishing this by developing one of the most technology-powered ad marketplaces in the world.
As the Director of Product, Ad Targeting and Network, you will be responsible for the features that define who advertisers connect with and where. This includes audience insights, targeting, and eBay’s growth across search, social, programmatic, and new offsite channels.You will use eBay’s rich first-party commerce signals to develop unique audience and targeting products that drive advertising throughout the funnel, from performance campaigns to brand advertising. In this role, you will develop eBay’s mid- and upper-funnel business through collaboration with brands, agencies, and ecosystem partners. You will build distinct retail and commerce media products and drive brand advertising growth toward eBay’s next billion-dollar opportunity.
You will achieve this by bringing to bear traditional and generative AI to build step-changes in our product capabilities. You will lead and grow a world-class team and collaborate with leaders across eBay to ensure that advertising acts as a force multiplier for the entire marketplace.We seek a visionary leader prepared to explore new horizons in ad tech. What you will accomplish:
Drive Product and Business Strategy
Take full responsibility for the complete product vision and roadmap related to audience intelligence, targeting, offsite ad syndication, and privacy-safe data collaboration platforms
Build differentiated targeting products by bringing to bear eBay's first-party commerce signals, including audience, contextual, behavioral, intent-based, retargeting, and other emerging approaches
Define and complete the strategy for growing eBay advertising beyond eBay-owned surfaces across search, social, programmatic display and video, and emerging external channels
Support the definition and growth of eBay's proposition for brands and agencies, building products that focus on objectives related to performance, consideration, and upper-funnel advertising
Find opportunities across retail and commerce media, including audience extension, direct customer data engagement, privacy-safe data collaboration, brand-funded media, and other emerging advertising models.
Champion innovation in AI, generative models, automation, and intelligent defaults to transform the advertiser journey
Partner closely with commercial and finance teams to align technical roadmaps with overarching business strategy
Deliver AI-aided impact
Leverage AI/ML to optimize audience segmentation, intent matching, and upper-funnel ad delivery, improving incremental sales velocity and advertiser ROAS
Push product and engineering teams to pioneer breakthroughs and lead innovations within the broader ad tech community
Cultivate a culture of progress driven by applying rigorous experimentation, A/B testing, and deep data analysis
Lead a High-Performing Team
Hire, mentor, and scale a team of extraordinary product managers
Foster a product culture grounded in rapid experimentation, deep seller empathy, and a hunger for growth

What you will bring:
10+ years of product management experience, with significant experience in digital advertising, marketplace, commerce, or large-scale data products
5+ years of people leadership experience with a proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams
Comprehensive knowledge of ad targeting, audience products, first-party data activation, identity, and offsite advertising ecosystems
Strong knowledge of retail media / commerce media concepts, including onsite and offsite activation, data clean rooms, audience extension, and closed-loop measurement
Experience with several areas such as DSPs/SSPs, programmatic advertising, paid search, social advertising, identity resolution, or brand advertising
Knowledge of how brands and agencies plan, purchase, optimize, and assess advertising throughout the funnel
Strong analytical and technical proficiency, with experience partnering deeply with Engineering and Data Science
Experience building products powered by artificial intelligence; generative AI experience is a plus
Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$224,800 - $300,100Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
