Automation & AI Platform Engineer (Network Security)
The Dell Security & Resiliency organization manages the security risk across all aspects of Dell’s business. You will have an excellent opportunity to influence the security culture at Dell and further develop your career. Join us as an Automation & AI Platform Engineer (Sr Advisor) on our Cybersecurity Engineering and Operations team (Network Security) in Ireland to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.
What you’ll achieve
As an Automation & AI Platform Engineer (Network Security) you will be a key member of our Cyber Defense organization, responsible for designing, engineering, and optimizing AI-driven workflows that enhance and automate security operations. You will focus on building intelligent automation pipelines, orchestrating AI capabilities across defensive tools and platforms, and streamlining end-to-end cyber defense processes. By mapping, improving, and automating security workflows, from alert triage and threat detection to incident response and remediation, you will ensure that AI-powered capabilities are seamlessly embedded into the operational fabric of our cyber defense mission. This role requires close collaboration with threat intelligence, incident response, vulnerability management, security engineering, and platform teams to deliver workflow solutions that drive speed, consistency, and effectiveness across the organization.
You will:
- Design, engineer, and optimize AI-powered workflows that automate and enhance cyber defense operations, including alert triage, threat hunting, incident response, vulnerability management, and security analytics.
- Map and analyze existing security operations processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for AI-driven automation and orchestration.
- Build and maintain workflow orchestration pipelines that integrate AI/ML models, security tools, data sources, and human decision points into cohesive, repeatable, and scalable processes.
- Develop and operationalize automation playbooks and runbooks leveraging AI capabilities within SOAR platforms, scripting frameworks, and custom tooling to accelerate detection and response.
- Integrate AI-driven workflow capabilities with existing security platforms — including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, threat intelligence platforms, and security data lakes — to enable seamless end-to-end operations.
- Collaborate with cyber defense stakeholders to translate operational requirements into well-defined workflow specifications, ensuring AI solutions address real-world security challenges effectively.
- Automate compliance checks, governance controls, and operational reporting to continuously improve the security posture and maturity of AI workflow platforms.
- Stay current with emerging trends in AI/ML, workflow orchestration, security automation, adversarial AI, and evolving threat landscapes to inform strategic direction and technical decisions.
