Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on and process-driven Senior Manager, Finance & Accounting Operations to lead the standardisation and optimisation of core finance operations. The successful candidate will own end-to-end process design and implementation across staff claims, revenue and accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets — building scalable, controlled, and audit-ready workflows that underpin the organisation's financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Claims
- Operationalise standardised end-to-end staff claims process covering submission, approval workflows, policy compliance checks, and timely reimbursements.
- Establish clear claims policies and employee guidelines; conduct training and communications to drive adoption.
- Implement controls to detect duplicate claims, policy breaches, and unsupported expenses.
- Support the improvement of processes to reduce manual effort and improve the employee experience.
Revenue & Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Operationalise standardised the revenue recognition and AR process in alignment with applicable GAAP standards.
- Establish consistent procedures for invoicing, customer collections, credit management, and dispute resolution.
- Collaborate with commercial and operations teams to align billing milestones and contract terms with finance processes.
Accounts Payable (AP)
- Operationalise standardised AP workflows covering invoice processing, 3-way matching, approval routing, and payment runs.
- Implement controls to prevent duplicate payments, unauthorised transactions, and late payment penalties.
- Monitor AP ageing, and accruals accuracy; produce regular reporting for management.
- Identify opportunities to automate AP processes through ERP optimisation or workflow tools.
Fixed Assets
- Maintain a comprehensive Fixed Assets policy covering capitalisation thresholds, useful life assumptions, depreciation methods, and disposal procedures.
- Operationalise standardised the asset lifecycle process from requisition and approval through acquisition, tagging, depreciation, and retirement.
- Conduct periodic physical asset verifications and reconcile results to the fixed asset register.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of capital expenditure, depreciation, impairment, and disposals in line with IFRS / applicable GAAP.
- Partner with procurement and operations teams to ensure all asset acquisitions are properly sanctioned and recorded.
Controls, Compliance & Reporting
- Support process documentation, SOPs, and internal control matrices for all four process areas.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring processes are well-documented, controlled, and evidenced.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements relevant to each process area.
- Prepare and present process health dashboards and operational metrics to senior finance leadership.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Change Management
- Support change management efforts for process rollouts, including training, communication, and adoption tracking.
- Manage and coach a team of finance operations staff supporting the four process areas.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with demonstrable ownership of process improvement or standardisation initiatives.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS; familiarity with US GAAP is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in at least two of the four core areas: staff claims, AR, AP, or fixed assets process.
- Prior experience with ERP systems (SAP S4/HANA, or equivalent); experience with automation tools is advantageous.
- Experience in mid-to-large organisations; multinational exposure is a plus.
- Fluent in English; additional Asian language(s) an advantage.
