Summary:
Detail-oriented and reliable Fixed Asset Accountant with proven experience managing the full lifecycle of fixed assets, from acquisition to disposal. Skilled in maintaining accurate fixed asset registers, performing system-to-ledger reconciliations, calculating depreciation, and supporting audits. Strong analytical abilities with hands-on experience in physical asset verification and compliance with accounting standards. Able to travel as required to support operational and audit needs.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end fixed asset processes, including asset additions, transfers, and retirements with timely and accurate documentation.
- Maintain a complete and accurate fixed asset register, ensuring proper classification, capitalization, and tracking of all assets.
- Perform reconciliation of fixed asset data between operational systems and accounting systems, resolving discrepancies and ensuring data integrity.
- Calculate and record monthly depreciation, reviewing useful lives and ensuring compliance with company policy and accounting standards.
- Reconcile fixed asset balances to general ledger accounts, preparing schedules and investigating variances as needed.
- Prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reports, including roll-forwards and supporting analyses.
- Participate in physical asset counts, validating asset existence, condition, and location; support follow-up investigations.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests, providing documentation, explanations, and reconciliation support.
- Develop and enhance fixed asset accounting policies, SOPs, and internal controls to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS/US GAAP/local GAAP regarding capitalization, impairment, depreciation, and asset disposals.
- Provide general accounting support and assist with other finance tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Min of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in fixed asset accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and fixed asset lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with fixed asset modules in ERP (SAP) and operational asset tracking system.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or CMA certification.
- Experience with SAP
