About This Role:
The Material Planner, Electrical is responsible for determining whether the production schedule is materially feasible for electrical components, including switchgear, PDC components, and specialized cable/wire. Working directly from the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and released Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), you will run MRP, maintain Clear-to-Build (CTB) status, manage shortages proactively, and own the day-to-day supplier forecast and commitment cadence. Given the long lead times and concentrated supply base in this commodity, lead-time discipline and early shortage anticipation are critical to protecting manufacturing timelines.
This role serves as the vital operational bridge between production planning, physical inventory, and strategic sourcing. The ideal candidate brings a strong grasp of MRP logic and BOM structures, excels at data-driven scheduling, and thrives in high-accountability environments where catching a constraint early makes all the difference. This is a Full-Time position.
What You’ll Be Working On:
MRP Execution & Requirements Netting: Run MRP and BOM explosions for electrical components against the MPS, netting gross requirements against on-hand, on-order, and in-transit inventory.
Clear-to-Build (CTB) Coverage: Maintain and refresh CTB coverage status by SKU and work center, prioritizing long-lead, critical-path items like switchgear.
Proactive Shortage Management: Identify potential material shortages well ahead of the production floor, escalating to Strategic Sourcing for expedite or dual-sourcing actions and tracking resolutions.
Supplier Forecast & Commitment Cadence: Share rolling forecasts with electrical suppliers, secure capacity and lead-time commitments, and feed supplier commits back into MRP within established contract frameworks.
Planning Parameter Ownership: Set and maintain item-level ERP planning parameters (order policy, lot sizing, lead times, safety stock, and planning time fences) at MBOM release.
Inventory Accuracy & ABC Classification: Partner with Materials Management to reconcile ERP balances against physical stock, while maintaining ABC classification data to support category prioritization.
S&OP Collaboration: Represent the electrical material and CTB constraint view during monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) reconciliations.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
Experience: 2-5 years of dedicated experience in material planning, supply planning, or MRP execution, ideally within industrial equipment, hardware manufacturing, or electrical commodities.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
System & Technical Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of MRP logic, complex BOM structures, and ERP planning modules (e.g., Acumatica or similar enterprise systems).
Supplier Coordination: Demonstrated experience coordinating rolling forecasts and delivery commitments directly with suppliers.
Data & Analytical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and data manipulation to manage inventory feeds, shortage lists, and CTB reporting.
Bonus Points:
APICS / ASCM certification, such as CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management).
Experience with long-lead electrical equipment, power distribution units, or high-power data center infrastructure.
Hands-on experience using Acumatica ERP.
Benefits:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $95,0000 - $115,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
