Designer, Malibu CB2
Reports to Store Leader
A day in the life as a Designer, Malibu CB2…
The Designer, Malibu CB2 drives sales, maximizes productivity and profitability through inspirational space planning, 3D design work, mood boards, in-home styling and furniture sales consultations. Foundational to this role is the ability to deliver exceptional customer service while engaging with walk In customers, in-store, in-home, and virtual design appointments. The Designer, Malibu CB2 will demonstrate subject matter expertise, teamwork and customer service so that an engaging experience is delivered to every customer, every time. This position is a keyholder and responsible for opening and closing the store in the absence of the Assistant Store Leader and/or Store Leader.
- Support and maintain store sales and service goals as communicated by the Store Leadership Team.
- Ensure all customers are provided gracious, quick and efficient service.
- Promote design services to our customers in order to elevate their shopping experience and distinguish Crate and Barrel from competitors.
- Maintain awareness of all systems, products and resources while selling throughout the entire store; supporting Crate and Barrel as an evolving omni-channel business.
- Demonstrate company standards in selling, customer service, visual merchandising and teamwork.
- Build rapport with customers by demonstrating product knowledge and the use of strong interpersonal skills
- Develop new and lasting relationships with customers through prospecting and clienteling
- Provide feedback, share observations, assessments and ongoing solutions with the Store Leadership Team.
- Focus on promoting sales by maintaining a strong, visible and positive presence on the sales floor.
- Develop, share and apply furniture product expertise by staying informed of the marketplace and industry trends.
- Communicate regularly, effectively and efficiently with all company associates and business contacts.
- Possess a complete understanding and awareness of applicable company policies and procedures including loss prevention, security and safety guidelines as outlined in the Associate Policy Manual and Code of Conduct.
- This position is responsible for opening and closing the store and performing other duties in the absence of store leadership.
- Support and maintain store sales and service goals as communicated by the Assistant Store Leader, or Team Leader
- Focus on promoting sales as they pertain to, or are driven by position/department to impact the total stores sales and profitability.

- 1+ years customer service or retail experience
- 6+ months commissioned sales or interior design service experience preferred
- Experience in a professional selling environment preferred
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Google applications, computer systems and tablet devices
Physical and Visual Activities
On a daily basis, must be able to constantly have visual acuity near and far, stand, operate computers/POS/office equipment, move around the facility and communicate. Ability to frequently handle paperwork and/or remain stationary. May occasionally lift, carry, reach, kneel, crawl, push/pull, climb, balance, bend, crouch, twist or have foot controls for operating equipment.
Physical Demands
Movement of product, supplies and/or boxes to and from all levels of the store and stockroom. Ability to move and/or lift up to 65 lbs to a height of 3-4 feet; heavier product with team assist. Furniture: Ability to move up to 300 lbs with appropriate equipment.

Hot/cold temperature changes, concrete floors, odors, dust and mechanical/electrical/chemical hazards possible
