Job Summary

As a Software Engineer 3 on the Cloud Security Engineering team, you will design, build, and operate software
platforms that help turn cloud security-related data into clear actions teams can take. The work sits in the
cybersecurity space, but this is primarily a software engineering role focused on backend systems, data
pipelines, workflow automation, cloud infrastructure, and production service ownership.
You will build systems that ingest information from multiple internal and external tools, apply business logic, and
turn that information into workflows, recommendations, automation, and measurable outcomes. These
platforms help teams investigate issues, understand next steps, automate intermediate work, and implement
repeatable processes across engineering organizations.
This is a high-impact engineering role where you will own meaningful technical areas end-to-end. You will design
systems of medium complexity, write production-quality code, make sound technical trade-offs, and contribute
across services, data flows, and workflow automation. You will be expected to break down ambiguous problems
and deliver durable software that can be operated in production.
You will work closely with software engineering teams, platform teams, product partners, and security
stakeholders to translate unclear problem spaces into usable internal products. Successful candidates bring

Job Description

Must Have
Core Engineering
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience contributing to production systems
• Strong proficiency in Python 3.10+ and clean, maintainable software design
• Experience building backend APIs and services using FastAPI or similar modern frameworks
• Strong database experience, including PostgreSQL, ORM patterns, schema design, and data lifecycle management
• S • Experience building data ingestion and processing systems across multiple sources
• Experience designing reliable multi-step workflows with retries, state tracking, observability, and failure handling
• Working knowledge of concurrency, async processing, and distributed execution patterns
• Ability to design layered, service-oriented systems with clear contracts and maintainable abstractions
• Ability to translate high-level requirements into practical designs, implementation plans, and deliverable work
Cloud, CI/CD & Infrastructure
• Experience with AWS services such as ECS/Fargate, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and event-driven patterns
• Experience with Docker and production container delivery
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions
• Experience supporting multi-environment deployments across development, integration, staging, and production
• Experience with automated testing, quality gates, dependency checks, deployment controls, and operational safeguards
• Experience designing services with observability, alerting, operational health, and production supportability General Requirements
• Strong engineering judgment and ability to make practical architecture and delivery trade-offs
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear designs, implementation plans, and phased delivery
• Experience contributing to technical design for features, services, workflows, or platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical decisions clearly
• Experience working across teams, aligning stakeholders, and driving execution across ownership boundaries
• Ability to support teammates, improve engineering quality, and contribute to team standards
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently while keeping partners aligned
• Familiarity with Agile practices, sprint planning, estimation, JIRA, Git workflows, code reviews, and CI quality gates
Nice to Have
• Familiarity with cybersecurity as a business or technical domain
• Familiarity with security findings, alerts, vulnerabilities, policy issues, or control-related workflows
• Experience working with security, risk, compliance, infrastructure, or platform teams
• Familiarity with secure software design, access control, auditability, and operational security practices
• Experience building internal developer platforms, self-service tools, or workflow automation systems
• Experience with React/TypeScript for building user-facing internal tools
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or similar analytical data platforms
