EMEA Country Acceleration is responsible for driving durable growth by delivering solutions for country compliance, change, and employee engagement; aligned with business objectives, Cisco’s culture and local requirements.
As the People Country Consultant for Portugal, you will partner with business leaders and leadership boards, employee representatives, ambassadors and the People & Communities eco-system to consult, develop and execute Country People & Culture plans.
You influence both internal and external communities and responsible for co-designing and executing solutions and HR strategies, initiatives and programs within the countries. You have a deep understanding of the business landscape, external market insights in region and country, and Cisco’s people agenda.
As a Country Consultant, you are not just a local compliance expert — you are a strategic operator who shapes how Cisco's global people agenda lands in-country. You are ecosystem-fluent by design, and you use AI as a quality and scale multiplier, not a shortcut. You know when to lead, when to orchestrate, and when to say no. You find the path forward — even when it's hard — and you bring others with you.
Your impact
Co-ownership of complex country compliance and legislative requirements
Assess and lead the industrial relations strategy and execution with the upcoming introduction of a Works Council.
Influence strategy and execute cross-functional projects e.g. restructuring, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures
Co-design and execution of employee engagement, inclusion & collaboration and other country level people and culture initiatives
Execution against benefits strategy for country, in collaboration with partners
Drive local Cisco Brand strategy
Support Employee Relations escalations
Be the in Country "face" for Cisco at Customer/Government/Legislative Meetings, Conferences, etc. Host, influence the agenda, create engagement opportunities for executive and partner visits at Cisco
Maintain operational oversight of HR services delivered by People Support and Country Support
Minimum Qualifications
8+ yrs experience of Human Resources; trusted consultant, advisor and coach
Deep country knowledge and local HR expertise within Portugal
Experience of shaping how global people and culture initiatives land in country
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience of working dynamically and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
Industrial Relations experience within Portugal
Experience of leading change and managing ambiguity
Critical thinking and strategic agility skills
