What you’ll be doing
You’ll be joining CIBC’s Enterprise Payments Technology team as a Consultant, Payments Technology Strategy. In this role, you’ll support the planning and management of the technology portfolio across a range of payments-related initiatives by developing multi-year roadmaps, preparing executive materials, and contributing to business management activities that enable effective decision-making and execution. You’ll work across strategic planning, financial management, workforce planning, governance, and process improvement initiatives. You’ll also help identify opportunities to improve efficiency through AI-enabled solutions and support a broad range of stakeholders across the organization.

How you’ll succeed
Strategy and Planning – Develop multi-year technology roadmaps aligned to business priorities and enterprise direction. Prepare clear, well-structured materials for senior leadership discussions and strategic planning forums and Stakeholder engagement – Partner effectively with teams across technology and business functions to drive coordination, provide updates, and support informed decisions.
Business management – Support budget planning, workforce planning, governance routines, and business case development for the portfolio and Process improvement – Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, strengthen reporting, and improve team effectiveness through AI and other practical enhancements.
Technology Awareness – Apply knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure strategic recommendations are grounded in delivery realities.
Who you are
You can demonstrate 5+ years of experience in technology strategy, business management, consulting, or a related field, along with experience in roadmap development, business case preparation, budget planning, workforce planning, and governance support. The ideal candidate should have strong PowerPoint and Excel skills, a solid understanding of the SDLC, and excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities, with a proven ability to produce polished materials for senior audiences. Nice to have knowledge of payments products, processes, or the technology landscape, along with experience working with payments teams in a banking or financial services environment. Experience with Power BI and exposure to AI use cases, including agentic AI, would also be considered strong assets.
