We are looking for a passionate Computing Engineer to join CERN's IT Storage and Data Management group (IT-SD). Our group enables large-scale data access for the laboratory, the Large Hadron Collider and CERN's broader experimental programme, managing more than one exabyte of storage in the CERN Data Centre.
You will join the CERNBox team, which provides cloud storage to the CERN community and is making CERNBox interoperable and deployable across European research infrastructures and the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Federation. You will package, test and validate the stack using Kubernetes and Helm for deployment across on-premises and public clouds, and contribute to Reva, its Go-based backend, by implementing the Open Cloud Mesh (OCM) protocol, an emerging IETF standard for interoperable cloud storage and data sharing across institutions.
If you are excited about cloud-native systems, open standards and building software adopted by research institutions worldwide, this is the place for you!
