As we expand our Transportation (TRN) team, we are seeking a talented Drainage Engineer with strong technical expertise and a passion for US roadway and rail drainage design to support transportation projects across the North America region.
**Role Overview:**
The Drainage Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design and analysis of drainage systems for
US transportation projects, including highways, arterials, rail corridors, and local road improvements.
The role involves close collaboration with US teams and requires adherence to relevant standards such
as state DOT guidelines, AASHTO, and stormwater management criteria.
**• Key Responsibilities:**
o Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis for roadway and rail projects in accordance
with US standards.
o Design stormwater drainage systems including:
* Culverts
* Storm sewers
* Channels and ditches
* Detention/retention systems
o Prepare drainage reports, calculations, and design documentation.
o Develop and review drawings, models, and specifications.
o Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (roadway, rail, structures, utilities).
o Support project delivery by meeting timelines and quality requirements.
o Collaborate with US-based teams to understand project requirements and standards.
o Contribute to developing drainage design capability within the India team.
o Assist in creating standard templates, workflows, and best practices.
**Qualifications**
o Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Masters preferred).
o 3–8 years of experience in drainage design for roadway and/or rail projects.
o Strong understanding of hydrology and hydraulics principles.
o Experience working on US infrastructure projects or familiarity with US standards (e.g., FHWA,
AASHTO, state DOTs) is preferred.
o Proficiency in relevant software such as:
* Bentley OpenFlows (StormCAD, CivilStorm)
* HEC-RAS / HEC-HMS
* MicroStation / OpenRoads / Civil 3D
o Ability to perform drainage calculations and interpret results effectively.
o Good communication skills and ability to work with global teams.
**Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)**
o Experience in both roadway and rail drainage projects.
o Exposure to floodplain analysis and stormwater management.
o Ability to work independently and take initiative in a growing team.
* Interest in building and leading a new technical capability. Knowledge of Bentley ProjectWise or
other document management systems.
