Job Description

• Define and govern the foundational power electronics architecture for next-generation On-Board Chargers and DCDC-Converters, acting as the technical authority within the converter development team ensuring the creation of a robust, scalable and manufacturable worldwide platform rooted in lead market china.
• Lead architectural reviews and complex multi-physics simulations (thermal, electrical, magnetic) to translate advanced concepts into highly optimized and reliable designs. Champion a "power-electronics first-principles" approach to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Provide expert technical counsel on the long-term technology roadmap. Shape future R&D direction and platform strategy through in-depth analysis of market trends, competitor technology and simulation-driven insights from viewpoint of chinese lead market.
• Lead advanced developments towards future topologies, modulations, technologies (e.g. GaN, advanced magnetic designs), control strategies and the integration (e.g. Cooling, EMC) into an attractive overall product.
• Serve as the primary technical authority and strategic link between our global teams, joint venture partners and the international development network to drive deep technical alignment and innovation.
• Mentor engineering teams on complex theoretical challenges, advanced simulation techniques and innovative problem-solving, fostering a culture of deep technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Education: A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in power electronics is highly preferred. A Master's degree with an exceptional and proven track record will be considered.
• Professional Experience: Extensive experience in the end-to-end development of high-voltage, high-power power electronics, with a primary focus on automotive converters. You must demonstrate a history of overall product ownership in developing automotive On-Board Chargers and/or DC/DC converters, from initial concept to mass production.
• Innovation Record: A proven track record of innovation demonstrated through patents, publications or a history of leading the development of novel architectures that have been successfully industrialized.
• Technical Knowledge: World-class expertise in power electronics topology analysis, magnetic component design, advanced control systems and holistic system optimization. Mastery of simulation tools (e.g., PLECS, Matlab/Simulink, El.-Magn Design tools) is mandatory.
• Technical Expertise:
  • World-class expertise in power electronics topology analysis, control systems, magnetic component design (transformers, inductors) and holistic system optimization for cost, efficiency and power density.
  • Mandatory, hands-on mastery of simulation tools such as PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink and electromagnetic design tools (e.g., Ansys, COMSOL, CST).
  • Strong understanding of EMC (standards) and mitigation techniques in high-power applications.
• Languages: Business-fluent proficiency in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English is mandatory to effectively collaborate with our global teams and partners. German language skills are a plus.
