Senior Process Engineer - Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) process (HcP/MFE1.13)

Company Description

Bosch first started its operations in Vietnam in 1994 and registered a wholly-owned subsidiary in 2008. According to the business strategy of Bosch in Vietnam, from 1st July 2014 on all business entities were merged into Bosch Vietnam Co. Ltd. with its head office at Ho Chi Minh City plant (HcP) in Dong Nai Province.

HcP has started its belt assembly in a rented building on 1st August 2008 as the assembly plant of Tilburg Plant (TbP). On 14th April 2011, HcP celebrated the inauguration of the new plant (Lth101 with 17,000 sqm), which did not only allow to increase the production depth, but also to facilitate the push belt assembly of this high-tech product. On 3rd July 2012 HcP marked a big milestone by starting to produce the second component (loop-set) for its push belt. Since November 2012, HcP doubled the production floor space and increase the net total floor space up to 56.000 m², and have successfully increased its production capacity and realized a lot of new line SOP’s.

Job Description

Responsible for operating, optimizing, and improving the Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems on the production line; leading AI and digital transformation initiatives to enhance inspection quality, reduce slip-thru errors, and support Smart Factory implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

1 AOI Operation & System Management:

• Control/improve product quality.
• Manage/control process parameters, documentation.
• Manage and monitor AOI machine performance.
• Analyze AOI defect trends and identify abnormalities.
• Perform preventive maintenance and standardize setup methods.
• Cooperate with QA/Production to solve quality issues.

2 AI Development & Implementation:

• Participate in building, training, and evaluating AI models for visual inspection.
• Maintain & improve AOI AI system

3 Digitalization & Automation:

• Maintain & troubleshoot issues for AOI dashboards (Power BI/Python/SQL).
• Support digitalization initiatives: vision system, traceability, machine connectivity.

4 Continuous Improvement & problem solving:

• Conduct root cause analysis using 5Why, Is/Is not, Fishbone, Problem Solving System, 8D.
• Improve lighting, camera angle, AI algorithm, fixtures.
• Participate in Lean/Kaizen (CIP) activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, IT data Science or related
• 2-5 years in an industrial manufacturing plant
• Strong analytical thinking
• Good communication across teams
• Proactive and fast learner
• Able to lead -projects independently
