The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Systems Engineer to join the B-52H Software Systems team in Oklahoma City, OK.
Our team is responsible for the development of software requirements, performing analysis of 1553 bus data, writing detailed analysis reports, and providing support to the B-52H test team to ensure software meets requirements for use on the historic B-52H bomber aircraft as part of the overall process required to deliver safe, qualified, mission capable software to the United States Air Force.
Position Responsibilities:
Oversees the design, development, analyses, and maintenance of software systems that meet industry, customer and internal quality, safety, security and certification standards
Partners with appropriate stakeholders to inform system definition and oversees translation of system-level requirements into software requirements and models that meet customer, operational and performance requirements and have clear traceability to design, code and test artifacts
Oversees completion of software system-level analyses to identify risk, issues and opportunities; oversees integration and deployment of mitigation actions throughout the software lifecycle
Oversees code reviews to ensure alignment to requirements and standards
Oversees monitoring and reviewing test completion, verification processes and issue resolution for software systems
Oversees development of user documentation and training to educate end users about usage of software products
Oversees review of product and process for alignment with project plans and industry standards by consulting on tracking and evaluation of internal team and supplier performance
Researches and oversees implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development
Oversees software project management and software supplier management activities
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s Degree
Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance Post-Start is required
10+ years’ experience creating and documenting software architecture and designs
Experience leading engineering teams across multiple functions
Experience with data analysis and/or data mining
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 14+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 18+ years of directly related work experience OR 22+ years of related, relevant experience
Experience working on defense contracts
Experience developing and presenting Preliminary and Critical Design Reviews
Experience working with and / or developing Interface Design and Interface Control documents, or similar documents that describe the interworking of two elements of a system that share a common interface
Experience with programming languages such as Ada, JavaScript, C++, C#, Python, SQL, etc.
Bomber experience (B-1, B-2, B-52)
Experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data
Experience with B-52 military or working with operational Link-16 and weapons data link networks
Understanding of Link-16 architecture and messages
Experience with weapons, POD, radio communications, navigation and radar operations
