You will also play a key role in driving future integration and alignment with the Colleague CIO organization as part of our broader digital workplace and platform strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and delivering the application and integration architecture for enterprise-scale platforms, ensuring high-quality, secure, resilient, and compliant solutions for a global user base. Working closely with product owners, business analysts, and engineering teams, you will translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions and drive delivery through an agile operating model. You will lead the design and implementation of web, API, and integration services, establish engineering standards and best practices, and promote API-first, end-to-end development. The role also involves partnering with the Colleague CIO organization to enable future platform integration, providing technical leadership across distributed teams, governing architecture and integration patterns, and building and leading a high-performing engineering team through effective hiring, people management, and professional development.
To be successful as a VP – Technical Lead - Compliance, you should have:
Considerable technical leadership with deep expertise in Java, Spring, Kafka, REST APIs, OpenShift, and modern engineering practices, with a proven ability to design and deliver secure, scalable, resilient, and compliant enterprise solutions
Extensive experience in API-first architecture, microservices, and event-driven systems, including the design of asynchronous integration patterns and enterprise-grade distributed platforms
In-depth knowledge of application security, identity, and access management, with practical experience implementing OAuth, OpenID Connect, mutual TLS, and other web service security standards
Proven performance history of leading high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced environments, driving architecture governance, code quality, production stability, platform resilience, and mentoring engineers across global locations
Ample DevOps and stakeholder management capabilities, including practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab, and Jenkins, combined with excellent communication skills to influence senior leaders and translate complex technical concepts into business value
Other highly valued skills include:
Experience with modern cloud platforms, including OpenShift, AWS, delivering scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise solutions
AI-first mindset with a passion for leveraging AI and intelligent automation to enhance engineering productivity, improve software quality, and enable governed agentic and workflow-driven solutions
Considerable Python development experience, with the ability to build, integrate, and automate business and technology solutions
Solid understanding of Agile delivery practices, with practical experience working within Scrum and Kanban frameworks to deliver value iteratively and efficiently
Continuous improvement mindset, embracing emerging technologies, modern engineering practices, and data-driven ways of working to accelerate business outcomes

This role is located in our Whippany, NJ office.
Minimum Salary: $170,000
Maximum Salary: $230,000
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
