Position Summary :
This job is responsible for providing leadership, technical direction and oversight to a team delivering technology solutions. Key responsibilities of the job are to provide oversight of the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex computer programs, align technical solutions to business objectives, and ensure that coding practices/quality comply with software development standards. Job expectations include conducting multiple software implementations and applying both depth and breadth in knowledge of several technical competencies.
The Feature Lead serves as a hands-on Technical Lead and individual contributor responsible for designing, developing, and delivering scalable data engineering, AI/ML, and analytics solutions while guiding a scrum team through execution.
This role combines technical leadership, solution architecture, hands-on development, agile delivery management, and mentoring. The Feature Lead will work closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, architects, analysts, developers, and testers to build robust platforms and intelligent solutions that support analytics, automation, and AI-driven decisioning.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and own end-to-end feature delivery for data engineering and AI/ML initiatives
- Lead technical design for scalable, fault-tolerant, secure, and high-performing data platforms
- Build and optimize batch and streaming pipelines for analytical and AI/ML use cases
- Develop and support solutions on the Hadoop ecosystem, leveraging enterprise big data tools and frameworks for large-scale data processing
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and convert them into practical, scalable technical solutions
- Lead low-level technical design, code reviews, architecture reviews, and engineering standards adoption
- Ensure solutions meet product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt
- Partner with the Product Owner to ensure backlog items are well-defined with clear acceptance criteria
- Drive work breakdown, sprint planning, estimation, prioritization, and team execution
- Mentor team members on coding standards, design patterns, peer reviews, debugging, and development best practices
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of job related experience required .
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience writing complex, high-performance queries
- Strong hands-on experience with the Hadoop ecosystem and related big data technologies, including: HDFS, Ozone, Spark, Hive, Impala, YARN, Sqoop, Oozie, Hue, MapReduce
- Experience with AI/ML technologies, including: LLM models
- building AI agents
- RAG-based architectures
- prompt workflows
- vector databases / semantic retrieval
- orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or similar technologies
- integrating AI/ML capabilities into enterprise applications
- implementing Copilot-based solutions and automations
- Strong Python and shell scripting skills for data engineering, analytics, automation, and AI/ML integration
- Experience with batch and streaming data processing using technologies such as Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink, or similar frameworks
- Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with NoSQL / modern data storage technologies such as MongoDB, HBase and vector-capable stores
- Experience with data lake / lakehouse / hybrid data architectures
- Experience with data analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of system architecture, data modeling, distributed processing, performance optimization, and scalable platform design
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based development, JIRA, Agile ceremonies, peer reviews, and release management
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science or Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience, with at least 3 years focused on hands-on work in the Big Data domain.
- Strong leadership mindset with the ability to guide, mentor, and uplift engineering teams
- Deep expertise in data engineering, distributed systems, and large-scale analytics platforms
- Strong understanding of AI/ML solution development lifecycle, including data preparation, feature engineering, model integration, and production deployment
- Experience building and supporting AI/ML-enabled applications, intelligent automation solutions, or data products
- Strong understanding of modern data architecture including: Batch processing, Real-time streaming, Data lake / Lakehouse principles, Scalable analytics platforms
- Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) delivery models
- Exposure to cloud technologies and hybrid architectures
- Strong stakeholder collaboration and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Experience with engineering best practices, automation, CI/CD, and production support
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot to improve engineering productivity

Pay and benefits information
Pay range
$106,500.00 - $173,700.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
Discretionary incentive eligible
This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
