Position Summary:
This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns. Consumer Vehicle Lending Technology (CVLT) is seeking a highly experienced Software Engineer to lead strategic initiatives and drive platform modernization across the CVLT ecosystem. This role requires strong technical leadership, architectural expertise, deep domain knowledge, and proven execution capabilities to deliver scalable, resilient, and business-aligned solutions that advance CVLT’s modernization strategy and support future growth.
Responsibilities:
- Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
- Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
- Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
- Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
- Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
- Automates manual release activities
- Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, solution design, and enterprise architecture within large-scale technology organizations.
- Demonstrated track record of leading and delivering enterprise-wide modernization, transformation, and strategic technology initiatives.
- Deep expertise in application architecture, system design, distributed computing, API development, cloud-native platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices.
- Strong ability to build partnerships and collaborate effectively across engineering, architecture, product management, and business stakeholder groups.
- Proven experience leveraging AI-powered engineering solutions, including GitHub Copilot and Enterprise AI platforms, to accelerate software delivery, improve solution quality, and foster innovation.
- Hands-on experience with modern technology stacks, including .NET, Java/Spring Boot, Oracle, Angular, OpenShift/Kubernetes, microservices, and developer productivity tools.
- Exceptional leadership and influence skills, with the ability to guide senior stakeholders and drive strategic technology decisions across the organization.
- Experience in financial services, consumer lending, or related banking technology domains is highly desirable.
