Job Description
Qualifications and Requirements
- 2–3+ years of experience in commodity markets, preferably in a Trading Assistant, Middle Office, or Operations support role, with exposure to derivatives and/or physical commodities.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and Excel skills, with experience using commodity trading and market-data systems such as TT, WebICE, ClearPort, SGX, EEX, Trayport, ICE, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and Openlink Endur.
- Experience with trade, position, and valuation reconciliations involving clearing houses, brokers, fund administrators, and other counterparties.
- Detail oriented, results driven, and able to make sound, timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal teams and external counterparties.
- Experience with onshore China exchanges and commodity compliance is preferred.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Support daily commodity trading operations, including trade capture, trade lifecycle management, reconciliations, break investigation, and resolution.
- Develop a strong understanding of the firm’s front-to-back operational processes, proprietary systems, and reporting tools to provide effective support to Front Office and other internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with Portfolio Managers, executing and clearing brokers, prime brokers, fund administrators, and other counterparties to maintain accurate and timely processing.
- Support the onboarding of new products, exchanges, brokers, accounts, and operational workflows.
- Identify and implement process improvements, including the adoption of new technology and automation opportunities.
