With respect to NY, CA, and IL based applicants, the starting base pay range for this role is between USD 80000 and USD 100000 annually. The actual base pay is dependent upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, business needs and market demands. This role may also be eligible for bonus compensation and employee benefits.
ROLE OVERVIEW
Balyasny Asset Management is seeking a Middle Office, Associate for the Listed Operations team. The employee will assist traders and portfolio managers with a wide variety of trade related and portfolio PnL questions. In addition to working closely with various departments such as compliance, technology, back office, and large-scale initiatives on requirements, gathering information, testing and implementation of firm initiatives.
In the role of Middle Office, Associate for the Listed Operations team the employee will be responsible for the following:
• PM Focus – primary point of contact for a set of portfolio managers on various inquiries related to PnL, trading activity, corporate actions, etc.
• Trade Lifecycle Management – From trade booking, settlements, break resolution, team is responsible for ensuring trades are matched and settled in timely manner
• Cross Department Collaboration – work with members of various other BAM teams such as Compliance, Large Scale Initiatives, Back Office and trading on system and process implementation to mitigate firm risk
• Corporate Actions – using Arcesium reporting, monitor upcoming voluntary corporate actions across the portfolio and communicate election options to respective PM’s and then make elections across various PB websites
• Option Expiration – work with trading desk on a weekly basis to confirm any special option activity and communicate this to prime brokers and Arcesium
• Global Middle/Back Office Team – as part of global MBO team, work together to identify and resolve gaps in process to minimize firm risk, streamline processes and build efficiencies
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• Technical, business, or relevant finance degree
• 2-3 years of relevant work experience in an investment bank, Fund Admin, Asset Manager, or Hedge fund
• Working knowledge of equities, swaps, equity options and futures
• Ability to effectively communicate with senior managers and members of other teams
• Good project management skills and ability to multi-task
