The Global Rewards Director will lead the development, governance, and evolution of AutoStore’s global rewards frameworks to ensure competitiveness, fairness, scalability, and alignment with business strategy. This role will develop and oversee compensation structures, performance & incentive schemes, annual merits and benefits programs and support workforce analysis and economics.
The role is also accountable for executive compensation governance, including the design, administration and review of executive reward programs, short- and long-term incentive plans, and Board-level compensation matters. The Global Rewards Director serves as a key partner to the CHRO, CFO, CEO and Remuneration Committee (RemCo), providing market insights, analytics, recommendations and governance support to ensure executive reward practices align with business strategy, shareholder expectations and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will help strengthen AutoStore’s ability to attract, retain, mobilize and motivate talent while supporting sustainable organizational growth and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, governance and administration of executive compensation programs, including base salary, annual incentives, long-term incentives and retention arrangements.
Partner with the CHRO, CFO and CEO to develop executive reward strategies aligned with business objectives, market competitiveness and shareholder expectations.
Serve as the primary HR lead supporting the Remuneration Committee (RemCo), including preparation of meeting materials, analyses, recommendations and governance documentation.
Conduct executive compensation benchmarking and provide insights on market trends, investor expectations and governance developments.
Support annual executive compensation reviews, incentive plan outcomes and executive employment arrangements.
Ensure compliance with applicable executive compensation regulations, disclosure requirements and governance standards
Lead global compensation and benefits frameworks and governance
Support salary benchmarking, pay structures, internal equity and market competitiveness analysis
Oversee and facilitate incentive, bonus, and performance-related reward frameworks
Oversee and facilitate annual merit processes
Partner with Finance, HRBPs, and business leaders on workforce economics and planning
Ensure compliance with compensation governance and regulatory requirements
Own employee wellbeing and total rewards strategies
Qualifications
8–12+ years of experience within compensation, benefits, rewards, or workforce strategy roles in a global company structure.
Strong expertise in:
Experience supporting Board-level compensation discussions and Remuneration Committee (RemCo) processes.
Strong knowledge of executive compensation design, including short-term and long-term incentive plans.
Experience conducting executive compensation benchmarking and market analysis.
Understanding of public-company compensation governance, disclosure requirements and shareholder considerations.
Ability to prepare and present complex compensation analyses and recommendations to senior executives and Board committees.
Global company wide compensation structures, benefits frameworks and Incentive and performance programs
Strong analytical, commercial, and stakeholder management capabilities
Experience designing and managing rewards strategies in technology, software, automation, robotics, engineering or other highly competitive talent markets where attracting, retaining and mobilizing specialized talent is a critical business success factor.
Location for this role is Oslo, Stavanger, or Nedre Vats in Norway, or Salem, NH in US.
